From our friend Chuck Finder at CBS Sportsline:
Starks receives prestigious team courage award (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/rapid-reports/post/15771591)
Even though he had been back with the Steelers just two weeks, OT Max Starks (http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/rapid-reports/player/493075/max-starks) was voted by teammates their 2011 Ed Block Courage Award recipient. It was based on his return from surgery and release. “It’s the NFL version of the purple heart, coming back from adversity,” he teased
Well deserved, and not even halfway through the season. At this point he'd be the odds on favorite to win it regardless of if they waited to vote on it or not. He's been just what the doctor ordered for the offense, no question about it.
His dedication to get back in shape after the offseason and training camp problems shows how much the NFL means to him, and the Steelers specifically.
