View Full Version : Terrible Towel Photos Around the World
10-13-2011, 12:13 PM
The Terrible Towel has become an iconic symbol that is recognized throughout the sporting world. Show your loyalty to the Steelers and submit photos of yourself, family, and friends posing with The Terrible Towel wherever your travels have taken you. WhereIsTheTowel.com (http://www.whereisthetowel.com) is a website run by Steelers fans that allows you to easily upload and rate your Terrible Towel photos. We're also working on a Steelers bar listing with maps and and indicators for real Steelers bars. There are a few websites that provide bar listings, but they are very convoluted. I've been to some of these in my travels and upon entering was pretty dissapointed. With your help and feedback, we can make this the definitive Steelers Terrible Towel photo and Steelers hangout listing website.
Anyway, we look forward to seeing your Terrible Towel photos on WhereIsTheTowel.com (http://www.whereisthetowel.com).

I don't think our Steelers Bar listing is convoluted. It's one of the top rated listing when you google "steelers bars".

I did not necessarily specify your listing. However, just because it ranks highly on Google when a search for Steelers Bars is input, does not relate to the validity of the content. That's an unintelligent argument.

So in other words which perhaps are "convoluted," you're just here to pimp your website? Probably not a good idea to come in and slam the website you are joining just so you can get some pub for your own.

You guys seem to be quite defensive and quick to make implications. I have not once said anything negative directly about your site. In fact, I think SteelerAddicts.com is a great online spot for Steelers fans. Is this how you treat all of your members with whom you may have a disagreement? Tsk, tsk.

Sarcasm noted... The fact that you felt obligated to 'correct' the owner of SA when he all he did was point out that the Google listing is quite high speaks volumes.

The fact that the "owner" felt like he had to jump in my post, make an assumption, and write a completely incorrect comment like he did "speaks volumes."
Without expression and intonation of the spoken word, sarcasm is most often misinterpreted, especially through a medium such as typed text. I was not being sarcastic with my statement regarding steeleraddicts.com to be a great site for Steelers fans.

The owner felt like jumpin in because that's what the owner does, he replies to posts. I was simply pointing out that unlike other sites bar listings, ours is pretty good. It was not a reflection on your site or any other site in particular. Just a general statement based on experience. The validity of the content is fine on our page. We add and remove listings as necessary on a normal basis.
Relax man, stop being so defensive.
I would have preferred that you contact me first to tell me about your site before you advertise it on SA. We have many, many, affiliates here and I would see no reason to not affiliate with your site on that basis, if that's something you're interested in...we're all part of the Steeler Nation but for future reference you may want to check with ownership first to be safe. Saves you from being labeled a spammer.

This a tremendous site for all Steelers' fans. So you got off on the wrong foot. It happens. We're all grown ups here, mostly. Perhaps you'll stick around and enjoy the site.
