If you could only pick 2 of your all time steeler favorites who would they be ?
#1 Defense>>>>>>>>>>>~~~~~~~> Jack Lambert
#2 Offense>>>>>>>~~~~~~~> Hines Ward
Must be 1 off & 1 on defense

I stick to players that I actually seen play. I wasn't alive for the Steel Curtain so I won't pick anybody from that era since I wasn't lucky enough to see those true great players.
So my alltime favorite Steelers are.
Offense-Jerome Bettis I love Hines Ward but I have to go with Bus.
Deffense-Its a tie Rod Woodson/Greg Lloyd.
When Rod Woodson was in his prime he was the best all around corner I have ever seen play. Notice I said all around. With all due respect to Deion "Prime Time" Sanders the guy couldn't tackle like Rod could. Plus Rod was a very good kick returner also.
As for Greg Lloyd I just loved the way he played the game which was nasty and mean. He was a badass.

Sorry Rod Woodson and Greg Lloyd were my two favorite players when I was a kid and remain today. I was also a big Darren Perry fan. I always thought Darren was underrated. True Carnell Lake was very good as well but I thought Perry should have gotten more credit.

Man I was joking with you thats what the lol was for. I didn't take it personal.
But sorry I like Woodson and Lloyd on defense. Its hard for me to say who my favorite is between those two. I had both of their jerseys growing up. If I had to pick one though I probally would lean towards Rod Woodson. He truely was a special player.

Lambert, pure and simple.
Rocky, HEART !!
I have always favored the guys that play like they love the game. You guys picking Woodson, you must be younger Blount was an all around cornerback

Defense - Mean Joe - The man that started the Steel Curtain
Offense - Stallworth - With Swann's circus catch's in the SBs he often gets overlooked

"Yeah" Our exceptions were a rough go at the 80's :drunk:
Great in the 70's "Best Teams In nfl history " Great in the 90's just some bad QB play or we would had at least 2 more super's :cursin:
Now we've got a great future ahead of us with 1 super under our belt and at least two more to go :tt02:

Man!! What a tough question!!
Ok, since ya won't let us get by with an either/or...lol
Offense--Hines
Defense--Polamalu
Those are probably the two players who I feel safest with (as far as having a better chance at winning) when they're on the field. You look out there and see them, and you can't help but think "OHHH yeah--so glad they play for us!!"

Defense - Jack Lambert (Capt Jack, Count Dracula in cleats from Pittsburgh Transylvania)
Offense - Rocky Bleier ("Rock"), a true soldier!!
