View Full Version : What happened to Fox Sports Pittsburgh? (Directv)

What happened to Fox Sports Pittsburgh? I just switched back to directv and can't find it. Anyone know what channel it is or if they don't carry it anymore?

I could find a channel called ROOT Pittsburgh that sounds like it is about the same thing. Does anyone have this? Is it any good? I don't get it now but would add it if it is worth it.

Also I know some areas have Comcast Sportsnet but didn't see one for Pittsburgh. Is there one of those too?

Thank you in advance anyone that is able to answer these questions for me.

Fox got bought by ROOT Sports

So Fox Sports Pittsburgh is now that Root sports channel? If so, is it basically exactly the same just a different name?

Thanks dude!

Root seems to care a little more about the programming but fox screwed sports fans here in the NW cause they cut out the nba teams then the sonics left and the blazers screwed up signing with comcrap so many fans can't get games on satelitte providers.

They only have baseball and Pac 12 football which is now going global with the big boys so Fox was failing bad...............

Interesting, thanks dude.

I honestly believe in Larry Smith and his ability to bring the PAC 12 to national significance. I have been following what he has done from the time he got hired. I know it was a controversial hiring but the dude has been genius. He clearly gets it! He immediately started sending his higher profile athletes from that conference to ESPN for Nat'l recognition before the season and august practices get underway. The dude is $$!

That happened several months ago. It was temporarily changed to "Direct Sports" first but then they settled on ROOT sports. Yeah it's the exact same programming, just rebranded with a new name and logo.

I still look for FSN Pit on my lineup sometimes
