I think most of us were going to be watching Baron Batch very carefully this preseason, but that's a mute point now.

A few other guys I'm going to be looking at closely on Friday night vs. Washington, and overall in the preseason:

Stevenson Sylvester: He's going to get bulk of the work in at middle linebacker and it's important for him to have a strong showing. I have no doubt he'll be able to do that.

Jason Worilds: He's been under fire in camp so far this year. He needs to come on like gangbusters in these games coming up. He had a strong preseason last year but for whatever reason so far hasn't been very focused or motivated in camp.

Jonathan Dwyer: This kid is lucky he's even still on the team right now. He needs to suck it up and perform or he'll find himself on the practice squad at best.

I am really interested in watching the secondary and offensive line as complete units as well as Sylvester and Heyward.

Big T and Ktrain listed the players I wanted to see as well.....But one not mentioned that I'm waiting to see is Chris Carter.......Anxious to see if he is going to the next OLB for the Steelers D or just another Zo Jackson or Bruce Davis....

I'd love to see Heyward just tear it up against Washington this weekend. I'm hoping for Gilbert that he doesn't let Leftwich, Batch, or Dixon get killed, lol.

With so many young guys not playing this Friday, we'll probably have to wait till next week to get a real good feel for them.

Another guy I'll be watching is Chris Scott, I want to see how he handles the pass rush. Run blocking comes easy for these young lineman but pass blocking is a different story.

Donovan Warren is still on the roster for now. Niles Brinkley has outshined him in camp but neither player will make the roster .
I will be focused on the secondary Crezdon Butler, Keenan Lewis mostly .
Also Chris Scott , and Wes Saunders

Keep your eye on Kickers and Punters in this game too, these guys are going to play a big part in the success of the team this year.

Can Kapinos hold off Sepulveda? Is Suisham going to win the job again? These kickers need to boot the ball into the endzone on kickoffs, make their FG's, and I'd love to see some good directional punting.

Kicking from the 35 on KO's shouldn't be a problem getting into the EZ (silly rule)..
