Watch out for this kid. He had another good day in camp and Ben had some good things to say about him. We talked about this alittle bit tonight on the Blitzburgh Radio Steelers Podcast with Chuck Finder. Grisham is working hard and at this point could definitely make the roster as a 5th or 6th WR. I'm anxious to see him in preseason and see how he does. We should hopefully see him a lot vs. Washington this Friday night.

Ben Roethlisbergerhttp://www.steelers.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/ben-roethlisberger/54dda34e-9e43-4c57-9397-1143ddced5d6/) worked with the first group, and it turned out to be a pretty efficient showing. On first down, Roethlisberger completed a 17-yard pass to Heath Millerhttp://www.steelers.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/heath-miller/ada7ab1b-9acd-421a-bed0-79ccc4542630/), and then with the clock still running, Roethlisberger hustled the offense to the line of scrimmage and completed a 7-yard pass to Arnaz Battlehttp://www.steelers.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/arnaz-battle/90e627d9-262e-4c1b-9c1d-18ac20e7f91e/).

On that play to Battle, Lawrence Timmonshttp://www.steelers.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/lawrence-timmons/afc86dd7-633e-4e37-a4da-5f089a96b666/) flashed up the middle on a blitz and had it been a live tackling drill he might have had a sack. But then on second-and-4 from the 36-yard line, Roethlisberger found Tyler Grishamhttp://www.steelers.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/tyler-grisham/2e36ac36-b2f8-4388-a207-7a30e86702ea/) deep down the left sideline for the touchdown.

Non contact practice, don't take much from that because they aren't going full speed.

They've been in pads since last week, although yes it's not full on like it is in a game. Still though, when you see a guy who's on the bubble having a good camp, it encourages you that he's taking his opportunities seriously. When you factor that against other guys that are dropping passes in camp, injured and missing, etc. he's staking his claim to a roster spot.

I said the same thing last year and got slammed..."Just because you have a white WR doesn't mean he's the next Wes Welker"...lol

As a slot guy he seems able..

LOL, I'll take a poor man's Wes Welker any day if he produces on the field. Plus if he does make the team he'll be the 4th or 5th WR on the field when he does see action, so he won't be going against the defenses top flight corners. I'd like to see him make the roster.

I watched him play at Clemson and I saw him at camp in 2009 when he went to our practice team. The kid has talent but it is yet to be seen if he will be as good in the NFL as he was in Clemson. Best of luck to him though!

Don't get me wrong I am all for him to succeed believe me but until he does it against a good opponent and consistently he is just a scrub and atleast he can catch unlike our 4 year "SLASH" WR/CB in Sweed

wes welker was a poor mans wes welker at first....hes was an undrafted bum nobody.

you know how i usually feel about training camp heroes, but grisham has been one for 3 years running now i believe i would kinda like to see him more, they dont "need" him but i he can show that hes fearless (which is what makes wes welker the way he is" he should get a chance to make the team now

What does Hines always say?

"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."

I don't care if he's a poor mans Wes Welker or a rich mans Andre Johnson...All I care about is can he catch the ball and turn up field. Consistent production speaks volumes.

I've always liked Grisham and would love to see him get on the final roster.

Just because he makes the roster doesn't make him good, just better than the guy that got cut.
I would like to see him make the roster because he has an upside not becasue he caught some balls in TC, Hell Sweed is better at route running and blocking but can't catch, when I hear he is a complete receiver then I'll hope for a roster spot for him same for Sweed.

Grisham knows the Steelers offensive system since he has spent years learning it.....Really its all on him if makes the team but he could caught up in a numbers game at WR....Wallace, Ward, Sanders, Brown are all locks......Steelers will keep 5 probably 6.........

I just don't see they don't keep 6 WR's. If you figure the main 4, and then you have 2 spots left for Grisham, Sweed, and Battle to fight for. Yeah they have a few other young guys but in reality it's between those 3. My money is on Battle and Grisham right now.

Randle El doesn't have a home yet and may be available if injuries strike during the season.

No offense but a 2 yr old could pick up what Bruce is teaching.....lol

Steelers kept 6 last year and they'll keep 6 this year. If Sweed shows anything (please God), and I mean anything in the preseason, keep him over Grisham. We have enough small shifty guys.

No offense to Grisham, he's seems like a good guy and is doing all he can to try and make the team but if Sweed can't beat him out then Limas needs to be banished from the NFL.

That's a reflection on how good Grisham is as much as how bad Sweed is.

In terms of route running I doubt Grisham beats out Sweed. Everytime Sweed have sniffed the field he has gotten wide open. Obviously we all know about the dropped balls and whatnot but the guy can get separation and block alright and most likely better than Grisham as well, although I must admit that it is more guessing that anything else from my part on that matter.

jerricho just ended the run for grisham and battle maybe. hes another one now to join the 6' and under WR club...

sweed is still safe at 6'4' just catch the dang ball..... sweed is tall and fast and you cant teach that.

Sweed needs to stay healthy, then worry about catching the ball...

Grisham has to be alittle bummed that Jerricho was signed. However I still think he makes the team with Cotchery. Sweed has just got to go unless he lights up the preseason. Even then it's no guarantee.
