I did some searching and there isn't anything that jumps out... most of the assistant coaches and what not do not ever have their salary info released to the public so this will probably be hard to come by :dunno:

That's why I asked.....lol I couldn't find anything. Was just wondering if they got paid enough to pass up a HC job to stay.

Yea the NFL has this thing about head coaches and their salaries not being made public. So I doubt you 'll find anything on assistant coaches.

Last I heard Steelers were looking to pay in the neighborhood of 2 million - 2.5 million for a new head coach.

Keep in mind these articles are at least a couple of years old and also the teams they are talkin about...lol Also small market versus big market teams will make a big difference also. Hope this helps a little.....:helmet:

I would think if they do pass up an HC job to stay it's because they believe in our team and the Rooney's enough to take what the Steelers offer them for the chance to continue being a part of the black n gold.

These guys wouldnt command some huge salary as an HC if they were to join a team. They certainly wouldnt be hurting for cash but that initial contract wouldnt be any where near as big as some of the veteran good HC's could command.

There is no loyality in the NFL no matter how good your team is. Its about the greenbacks. If team A offers any assitant the HC job they are going to have to offer that coach more money then he is getting paid to get him away from that team. But being offered a position like that may make some drop money to move as well.

I would coach the Steelers for a year just to make that kind of money! I would probably run the team into the ground but at least I'll get paid for a year! :D

Remember guys, the Steeler's are cheap, same as the Bucks. The owners have use that old small city bit for years and it doesn't work any longer. Assistant coaches make good money but it can't be enough to keep them around. Most are in the business to get to the top and we sure are a supplier of coaches. We need a local coach that will stay fifteen years or more.
