Ariko Iso, the only full-time woman assistant athletic trainer in the NFL, will leave the Steelers June 10 to become the head athletic trainer at Oregon State, her alma mater.
Ms. Iso spent the past nine seasons with the Steelers, becoming the first and only woman athletic trainer as a full-time employee in the NFL.

Anything I ever heard about her was top notch. Our loss and I wish her luck.

I always thought that was Hines Ward's mom.

Is this the same as a running back having to beat off defenders??

All I have to say is that I feel sorry for whatever supports James Harrison.

Sometimes they have to do it with both hands, you know.

Good point, I would think they'll be inundated with applications once the lockout is over.

Hopefully after how successful Ariko was it will pave the way for other female trainers to join the NFL.

All the players speak very highly of her, she's a complete professional and knows her trade very well. Oregon is lucky to have her on staff.

I truly hope so. I am currently an majoring in athletic training and knowing that the Steelers had a female trainer always gave me hope. I wish I was already qualified to apply for the position because I definitely would.
