and now the ravens say they don't want to play night games in hienz because it's too tough to play there.. hmmmm

5. Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh (http://www.associatedcontent.com/topic/12169/pittsburgh.html) Steelers. Home of the six time Super Bowl (http://www.associatedcontent.com/topic/12189/super_bowl.html) champions and the Terrible Towel, Pittsburgh is no fun place to play, especially late in the season when the cold winds whip off of the river front right through the stadium.

Lincoln Financial Field at #2 is a joke, big deal they gave Santa a hard time. I've been to Steelers games there and the Vet and both times it looked like Pittsburgh east.

I can see Seattle's field being high on the list, and the super Dome as well. Heinz definitely deserves top 5 billing and I would most certainly put it ahead of Lincoln Financial Field. The fans are rowdy there but so what, it's not like the players are the ones getting arrested and taken to court on the spot.

Not only is Heinz hard to play in because of the winds, the snow late in the year, and all the Terrible Towels waiving, etc. Also consider the fact that normally the field conditions are so bad that players hate coming here because there's no footing to speak of.

Yeah, Eagles fans booed Santa Claus in 1968. The #1 song in America when they did that was "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye.

Arrowhead Stadium, for being an old school type design by today's standards is still one of the loudest places in the league. When the fans get to screaming it just funnels all the noise down to the field.

Definitely top 3. Open end, wind, cold, just the crappiest turf in December after Pitt's season ends and the Rooneys allow the HS playoffs Thanksgiving weekend. Ok, Seattle has loud fans, but their team is lousy, and they wear colors better suited for a Broadway musical.

The Ravens always prove that they are a fake tough team. And this is just even more proof of that.

The most intimidating place to play, hands down, is Baltimore...I mean seriously, how much more intimidating can you get than a purple stadium filled with 70,000 people wearing purple on their way to a Barney festival! :hilarious:

Oh, I was thinking because of all the murderers that they have on the field, let alone in the stands..

I just can't stand even walking into that stadium even for a Steelers game. I mean seriously everything is purple and everybody is running around in bird costumes. I know it's loud for games and all but you just can't take those fans seriously at all!

Nothing goes into these lists except for the fact that when you win consistenty and play well at home like all good teams do, then your place is intimidating for visitors. Nothing more to it.

I can say from my own personal experience that Giant Stadium is overrated and Im not even sure where they are on this list. No football vibe at all there. They call for security if you stand up and cheer. Awful. Give me Pit, Philly, Chicago, Oakland, Kc, etc. My opinion.

I'm surprised Heinz Field is in the top five really....Only reason I can think of is since so many NFL coaches/players complain about the grass when weather conditions turn foul and really make the playing surface difficult to play........

Until the Tomlin era the Steelers never won an AFC title game at Heinz Field.......I easily would have Qwest Field, Arrowhead, Gillette, Invesco Field, Lambeau ahead of Heinz............

You left out the moronic fireworks and Ray Ray's hideous (Elaine from Seinfeld) pre game dance. Baltimore is just a dump with a tremendous inferiority complex. Crappy ghetto music, and more filler garbage than the ice capades.
