I don't really understand why ya'll think this is so horrible. James got his fined reduced too as well as most other players who were fined for helmet to helmet hits.

Yeah, the reason he got the fine reduced in this instance is clearly because of the proportion of his salary taken was obscene... It's still another example of the NFL and R Goofball not handling these hits and fines properly.

OK, I have no problem with the fine reduction, but announcing it NOW, 2 months after the hit, in the middle of a work stoppage? Who really gives a ****? I just don't get it.

Ok, then I want James Harrison's fines reduced for, uh, all of these.

Harrison's hits where a hell of a lot closer than this one...To each their own!

I don't want to star this debate again, but most of Harrison's hit was not totally legal according to the rules. Are the rules stupid, sure, but they are the rules after all. Furthermore, he did he a couple of times which was also contributed to the heavy fines. McClain was a one-time offender, and he was punished as deserved.

I do, however, agree that the timing seems rather odd.

The whole NFL fine thing was so whacked out in 2010. The implementation of the whole new rule interpretation is such a cluster &^%$ it wasn't even funny. I agree though, who cares right now, bigger issues in the NFL to deal with.

NFL was a joke last season and sure is looking that way this season all ready!
