Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger drank and sang the night away at a Dallas-area piano bar Tuesday, according to video posted on TMZ.

According to the report, "Big Ben" arrived at around 11:00pm local time at Pete's Dueling Piano Bar in Fort Worth, Tex., and stayed until 1:15am Wednesday.

Roethlisberger arrived with two of his teammates, buying several rounds for himself and the entire bar. He reportedly tipped $200 on an $800 tab.

In the TMZ video, the two-time Super Bowl winner is seen belting out Billy Joel's "Piano Man" along with his Steeler mates.

This is the second report this week of the AFC champs enjoying the Dallas-Fort Worth nightlife. Several Steelers, including wide receiver Hines Ward, were spotted at a strip club Monday, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Oh No, Hines was at a strip club!! OMG No...cancel his super bowl membership card and call the cops!! This is why I hate the super bowl media hype, they report on anything just to get their name out. It's stupid. Everybody enjoys themselves alittle bit,and besides, curfew is normally midnight.

NO PROBLEM WITH IT WHATSOEVER. If it were Saturday night, I see a problem with it. He was out with his TEAM, had a few drinks and honestly was probably just unwinding and having a little fun - at no ones expense.

The guy can't win. they used to say he was a cheapskate and now he picks up the tab, tips the server $200 and he still gets scrutinized.

Ben, just go out on Sunday, throw for another 500 yards against the fudge packers of Green Bay and have the last laugh.

--- Added 2/3/2011 at 02:45 PM ---

One more thing - for those who say Ben is a phony because he has rekindled his faith, but still has an occasional drink, GET A CLUE!

Being a devoted Christian doesn't mean a person has to abstain from alcohol. SOme denominations of Christianity require abstinence from Alcohol and tobacco - but not all do. And honestly, it's a personal choice.

I went into this week trying to enjoy the process, but now I'm aggrivated and can't wait to play this game.

Aww damn it! Ben was out being an adult? You've got to be kidding me? All this was going on while Donald Driver and Clay Matthews were escorting the elderly to bingo night and donating vital organs to the people of Dallas. Gee, will Ben ever learn?

I just saw on PTI, Aaron Rodgers of course had to throw a jab .. "I haven't been out carousing"... explaining that he may have gone out to dinner but then went straight back to study film ..

WTH? It's not breaking news that Ben takes his guys out before games ... this is ONLY a story because of what has happened to Ben ... and no one wants to let him get past it ..

I am glad Rodgers said that. It's a form of trash talking. We do well after that, Ben does well. Keep it coming Cheeseheads.

Mike Tomlin put it best (From espn.com):

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he knew about Roethlisberger's evening and had no problem.

"I'm not concerned one iota," Tomlin said. "It's normal for guys to eat dinner, believe it or not. During the course of the season, guys go out on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Believe it or not, guys live lives."

You shoulda' heard the local sports guy here in Baltimore.

He kept repeating "Out getting drunk...out getting drunk.... at a bar.....out getting drunk." He also kept saying "He can't control himself." %#$%@#@$# pissed me off. He kept citing TMZ too. Since when does a supposedly reputable journalist use TMZ as a source?

How dare Ben enjoy himself. Doesn't he know he's supposed to hide out in his hotel room reading the Bible and being in bed by nine every night? I have to believe if it were anyone but Ben it would be a non issue. The media needs to get over themselves and let the guy be. I loved Tomlin's response though.

The controversial Steelers QB is grilled by reporters after he's seen partying with teammates in Texas.

By Chris Chase
www.yahoosports.com

Ben Roethlisberger(notes) defended himself to reporters on Thursday after video was posted on TMZ of him drinking at a bar with teammates earlier this week.

The entertainment website posted a short clip of Roethlisberger, drink in hand, singing at a piano bar late Tuesday night:

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback defended himself to reporters on Thursday after he was asked questions about his night out:

"It was a superstition and tradition on Tuesday night. I take the linemen out to dinner. We went out for barbecue and then we wanted to hear some live music. We just had an enjoyable night."

He also spoke about why he requested Billy Joel's "Piano Man."

"That's a great piano song isn't it," he said. "You've got to request that when you're at the piano bar." Roethlisberger also mentioned that he and his teammates were home before the team's 1 a.m. curfew.

TMZ reports that Roethlisberger bought several rounds of drinks for himself, his teammates and the other patrons in the bar. The bill came out to $800 and he left a $200 tip.

To sum up, Roethlisberger went out for drinks, tipped well, had fun with other customers and was, by all accounts, on his best behavior. He didn't cause a scene or get behind the wheel or draw any negative attention to himself.

So what's the problem here? Because of his incident in Georgia, he's supposed to lock himself in his hotel room every night? Other than opening himself up to ridiculous lines of questioning from reporters and having to defend himself for having a good time, Roethlisberger didn't do anything wrong (other than requesting a Billy Joel song).

But why listen to me when Steelers coach Mike Tomlin summed up the situation perfectly:

"I'm not concerned about [Roethlisberger going out] one iota. It's normal for guys to eat dinner believe it or not. ... I understand things being reported or viewed differently but that's not our concern. Believe it or not guys live lives."

The following night, Roethlisberger's life was more low-key. He said he stayed in and watched a movie in his hotel room.

Any man who sings to piano music is going to Heaven when he dies...

This is a theory that was studied extensively and proven to be true. There was an article about it featured in the New England Journal of Medicine.

"Carousing"? "CAROUSING"??? What is this - HIGH SCHOOL?? 1:15 am now qualifies as "wee hours"??? Pleeeez...

As SteelerGirlTN and others have pointed out, if it were ANYONE else but Ben. He has been convicted of ZERO crimes, which cannot be said of certain other professional athletes.

Big Ben has been working his heart out, on the field and off, demonstrating his humility, gratitude, and generosity.
GO BEN! WIN MVP!! You ARE "elite".
P.S.
I bet Tom Brady will be watching the Super Bowl in Margaritaville.

Just FYI - my "sings to piano music..going to Heaven" post is illustrative of my non-mainstream sense of humor.
P.S.
I'm a Christian, I play the piano, and I scrupulously avoid throwing the first (second, third, or any sequence) stone.

it's been a problem for years, 2 weeks and thousands of reports. There's only so many stories so they have to make some up.
