View Full Version : Superbowl score prediction

Pittsburgh Steelers 31 Green bay Packers 20

This is my prediction . I looked at the scores of the past Steelers superbowls and I told myself I like them to win like they did in superbowl XIV . The game was close until the beginning of the 4th quarter when Bradshaw hit Stallworth for a 73 yard TD. They added another TD and basical that TD bomb sparked the Steeler team and there was no looking back .
So lets say Roethlisberger hits Wallace with the bomb TD and Mendenhall score the late TD .
Be hard for my nerves if it's any closer .

I've already predicted the score several times but I keep on changing it, so here is my updated prediction

Steelers 30 GB 13

We will get in Aarons head early and often. They cannot run on us, so unless they get lucky on special teams or defensively I don't see them scoring much. We can pass the ball as well as anyone and our running game has looked solid, so I really like our chances.

Not only will I give you the score, but I will also provide highlights:

Steelers 27 Packers 24

1st qtr Ben hits Miller for a 23 yard TD
2nd qtr Harrison sack/fumble sets up a short 31 yard TD drive, capped by a Mendenhall 2 yard TD run
2nd qtr Suisham hits a 42 yarder as the half ends with the Steelers up 17-14
3rd qtr Ben hits Antonio Brown for a 52 yard TD pass down the left sideline, Steelers up 24-14
4th qtr, score 24-24, Suisham hits a 39 yarder to give the Steelers a 3 point lead with 1 minute and 3 seconds remaining
Game ends on failed 4th down conversion at the Steelers 41 yard line.
Ben kneels on it for #7
Whew.....

I want to blowout the Packers. No more jealous fans whining about refs. No more of this Ben Roethlisberger is overrated. No more crying about illegal hits. Just a good old fashion *** whopping and Ben to throw for 380 yards with 4 TDs.

Everyone bragging up how great GB is on turf indoors, how their D is the lowest scoring D in the PO's etc etc....

I predict the opposite (I don't do scores)...

I've said it before. 34-17 Steelers. There are many matchups to watch but when Rodgers takes a shot and gets pounded, it's over for GB. History proves his level of play is immediately affected negatively with each hit. They only put up 14 on offense vs. Da Bearssss.

Too hard to predict scores. I predict a Steeler win.

Steelers win 28-17...Packers will make a late surge but Troy will get a game clinching INT to end the game and lockdown the win...Im telling everybody right now that Troy and Mike Wallace are going to make big plays in this game at some point. Both have been quiet for way too long and both are due to break out and make a big turning point kind of play that can really turn the game around into the Steelers favor. Keep an eye on Troy this week Im telling you he is going to pick off Rodgers at some point and either score off of it or return it deep into Packers territory to set-up a score...

The score may not even be this close. Some Goofball on yahoo has the score going Pack 31 - Steelers 3. It just goes to show some guys no nothing about football.

My friend who follows the Cowboys says exactly the same thing. I'm thinking the Steelers score 24 (3 TD's & a FG). Mendenhall will hopefully be the catalyst with a 100 yard game. With Packers needing to re-adjust from their 2-4-5 front, Big Ben can use some play-action on screens to Mendenhall & Moore...maybe using Redman also. Packers are capable of moving the chains if LeBeau isn't calling a constant blitz. 24-20. To keep the Pack to less than 50% on third down conversions will be the key.

This is what I predicted already:

Steelers: 17
Packers: 13

I'm going under for a couple of reasons. The Steelers do not run away with games against good opponents and they are playing a hot one in Green Bay. The Defenses for both sides will not let either offense run wild on either side. I'm willing to bet a lot of money that Green Bay HEAVILY emphasised the run defense in practice this week. Assuming that Pouncey is out I think it shouldn't be too difficult for Green Bay to shut down the run.

Now, if this game becomes the street fight I think it will, then the edge goes our way. Here's why: We play this kind of game all the time. Both QBs can escape pressure, but Rodgers will not be able to shake a James Harrison sack. Ben's a veteran and will not be nervous for the first few minutes. I think the Steelers get out to a lead maybe 7-0 or even 10-0. Then they allow Green Bay to get right back in it because it's what they do. They hold off Green Bay (barely) at the end.

This defense is essentially a tighter version of what we saw last season. They can be very dominate, but they can also give up leads and I think that will be a factor come Sunday. Our veteran experience will help in the latter stages of the game.
