The Pittsburgh Steelers will snag their seventh Super Bowl title this weekend in Dallas -- at least according to Madden NFL 11.

Electronic Arts has unveiled its annual prediction for the outcome of Super Bowl XLV, based on a simulation of the game run through Madden.

The results? The Steelers hang on to defeat the Green Bay Packers 24-20, thanks to a late interception by Aaron Rodgers in the closing moments.

Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace finished as the Super Bowl MVP with five catches for 111 yards and the game-winning touchdown.

Before casting doubt on the accuracy of these prognostications, the Madden NFL simulations have had a pretty strong track record in recent years. EA Sports has nailed down the winner of the Super Bowl six of the past seven years, including last year.

The lone miss happened during Super Bowl XLII, when the New York Giants upset the New England Patriots.

EA has also posted a video recap of its Super Bowl XLV prediction:

Guess I don't need to go now :)

On my free time I sit back and play this game . If I choose my plays I am too good .
If I play with the computer selected plays the games are close .

But on sunday I beat the Packers 31 to 10 . I knocked out Rodgers in the first quarter ,he did come back later in the game . Polamalu came up with 2 interceptions to seal the deal .

I made sure not to play another game on sunday .

6/7 = 85.7% accuracy

Let's just say this: I would rather see the Steelers win the Madden simulation than lose it. Sure, it is only a simulation, but it just feels like good polarity.

6/7 = 85.7% accuracy

I think that accuracy is probably more due to luck or the skill points or whatever it is on Madden than who actually has the better chance of winning a game.

God damn't woman, we need you to be more optimistic about the meaningless stats leading up to the game.

Anyone who knows me will tell you I'm a pessimist. I like to call myself a realist

WhatIfSports had a simulation run 2,501 times the other day. Pittsburgh won 52.7% of the time. Damn close. But the last two simulations also had Pittsburgh winning (thought the percentages against the Jest and Ravens I believe, were in the 60's). Not a bad track record.

But we only get one real game. Gotta make it happen.

Go Steelers!!!!
