View Full Version : Steelers & Santonio Holmes

01-28-2011, 07:07 PM
Should the Steelers win the Super Bowl and Hines Ward retires. Will the Steelers bring back Santonio knowing he's a free agent? Would Santonio want to come back to Pittsburgh? What's your take?

01-28-2011, 07:13 PM
Highly doubtful.

1) Steelers cut him loose for poor behavior. Bringing him back is contradictory.
2) Holmes is going to want to make bank, bro. He'll want to drive a Landrover.
3) Wallace is turning into a true #1 WR, Sanders and Brown are looking exceptional, and there is always that guy Limas Sweed. There isn't that much need for another WR even if Ward rides off into the sunset. Hell, K Train's favorite, ARE82 is still here too!

no way. holmes had it all and chucked it for weed. the right fit is the yets.

Lets bring both Plax and Holmes back for next season lol

Would be nice, but it's not happening. I like Brown & Sanders to step up anyways...if there's football.

I don't see this happening, he made a horses *** out of tomlin and the rooneys, I don't think they want an encore performance...perhaps cincinnati or dallas they seem to like fools like him

NOT A CHANCE. The Steelers got rid of him for a reason which have not changed. Ed Bouchette alluded to several things not publicized as well. I doubt he will retire until he gets 1000 catches and a few more Steeler records.

I see your thinking here, but no way does it happen especially with the explosion of youth at WR we have.

01-28-2011, 09:04 PM
Holmes wa already given a second and third chance. The Steelers don't do that kind of business.

01-28-2011, 09:28 PM
Homes won't come back. He'll be paid more somewhere else.

I don't want him back...:yellowthumb: His replacement is doing very nice...

Holmes burned his bridges with the Steelers...along with his blunts. And he knows it.

I for one appreciate his time with the team, but it's over.

01-28-2011, 10:53 PM
Hell NO!:eek1:

He would have to play behind AB, ES and MW. He might get to play in front of Hines,............................................ .................................................. ................................................wh en Hines needs a break.

Actually, it was nice when he was here, but you don't bring him back now. VY has a better chance of returning to Tenn.

Don't forget the Raiders. :yellowthumb:

Mike Wallace is already as effective as Holmes. Now he'll have the opportunity to prove me right on the big stage.

We don't want him back. fine without him!

01-29-2011, 04:03 AM
Anyone enjoy his reaction after we beat him last week, just sitting there like "why did I **** up"

01-29-2011, 06:59 AM
holmes wouldnt come back anyways. one of the reasons he was traded, besides the off the field stuff, was that he was in the final year of his contract and was quoted as saying "i want to play in a bigger market". TRANSLATION: I WANT TO GET PAID. and we all know the rooneys rarely shell out the big bucks, especially to guys who continuously screw up time and time again when given so many chances to clean up their act

01-29-2011, 07:49 AM
Holmes is a selfish punk which is why the Steelers gave him away. I think Sweed's days are numbered as well. Just too much going on with that guy, and he has shown little.:tt02:

01-29-2011, 09:18 AM
You're kidding!?! Santonio who?

you know...the guy in your sig...

01-29-2011, 02:07 PM
Sure. Let's bring back a guy the team doesn't even need, let alone want.

01-29-2011, 02:09 PM
No way they bring him back; one more drug issue and he's out for 1 year. He is definitely not worth the risk.

01-29-2011, 03:34 PM
Holmes likes his wake n bake too much....
perfect fit for NY, LA, or any cally city, BUT NOT HERE IN BLITZBURGH!!!

01-29-2011, 04:20 PM
I want nothing to do with this crybaby, first down celebrating, pot smoking, diva wide receiver. I'll let Brown or Sanders slap him in his face any day. POS

01-29-2011, 07:41 PM
I agree with the thoughts above. The only way he will be back in Pittsburgh is if he plays against us. I think he ought to go to the Raiders. Thugs seem to fit in well with the Crypt-keeper and his team.

JD from Utah

PS - Something tells me Hines won't retire. The chances go up if the CBA includes 18 games however.

Yes I do know that. New sig is coming.

SteelerAddicts have spoken. Kiss our *** Holmes.

01-30-2011, 02:25 AM
I'm really excited about the collective effort of our wide receiving corp. If it takes Manny and A Brown to equal what Holmes did I'm fine with that. M Wallace has already eclipsed Holmes' big play stats and I love Wallace's mindset. Go chase the money Tone, ask Jagr how that worked out. A great player on a non contender.

I really think the Rams are going to make a play for Holmes.
