Last week on Christmas Eve we all hoped for a gift
Not just a win but a playoff standings shift

Playing the Ravens is where it would begin
For anything else to matter - it's a game we have to win

We went to Heinz Field - it was my family's present
Unfortunately the outcome was nothing close to pleasant

One touchdown is all we were able to score
Then the Ravens scored several more

It wasn't a shutout but it was painful to see
But going to the game was still worth it to me

Was this possibly Bill Cowher's last home game?
A lot of people are making that claim

We'll find out for sure in the next week or so
He'll make an announcement if he'll stay or if he'll go

If we had beaten the Ravens everything started to fall our way
But the Jets took care of that by winning Monday

The Broncos beat the Bengals in a last second win
So the Jets just have to beat Oakland and they're in

Our season will end after playing the Bengals Sunday at 1
Even if the Bengals win - their playoff hopes might be done

But that doesn't matter because what gets my vote
Is beating the Bengals - ending the season on a good note

This game we play might not mean much to other teams
But if we can't go - spoil the Bengals playoff dreams

Christmas came early during our last game
Don't count on that outcome being the same

There's really only one thing left to say
Watch out Bengals! We Dey!

Michele, that is awesome!! You turly are gifted. You need to submit these to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette or Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and see if they would be intrested in printing your work. I am darn sure they would. You have a gift that a lot of Steelers Fan would love to have.

Awesome!!! Are you going to keep these up during the off season? :D

Well, there will still be one more .. to recap the Bungles game, and end the season (sigh) ... but in the offseason, hopefully, we have nothing to write about (ie last season) .... but I will still be hanging around here during the off season, and be right back w/ the poetry when there's a game to write about.

I appreciate everyone's compliments every week when I post these! :-)
