With each January comes a flock of Pro Bowl starters who suddenly have injuries through which they can no longer play, and thus a flurry of Pro Bowl replacement players.
The latest one is a but of a surprise, especially since defensive end in the Steelers’ 3-4 defense rarely get much attention.* Heck, most people don’t even know who they are.
Enough of them know who Brett Keisel is.
The Steelers have announced that Keisel will replace Dwight Freeney on the AFC Pro Bowl roster.* The nine-year veteran from Brigham Young appeared in only 11 games (the Steelers were 9-2 when he played), mustering three sacks, two forced fumbles, and a 79-yard interception return for a touchdown against the Bucs, during which he toyed with Josh Freeman, weaving back and forth until Freeman fell down.
