View Full Version : Pouncey wins Steelers Rookie of the Year; Ben gets the Chief Award

Center Maurkice Pouncey added another honor to his growing cache when he was named the Steelers' rookie of the year today, one of two awards issued by the Pro Football Writers in Pittsburgh.
Pouncey on Tuesday became the first Steelers rookie offensive lineman in 55 years to make the Pro Bowl.
Ben Roethlisberger won The Chief Award, given annually to the member of the Steelers' organization who best exemplifies the spirit of cooperation with the news media displayed by franchise founder Art Rooney Sr.
Roethlisberger is the first quarterback to win the award in its 23 years.

It's nice that Ben got this award, after all he's been through he talked to the media like a pro. The Steelers did their part to keep him away from the media for awhile but when it came time to get back to normal Ben responded like a champ. Congrats to both of them!

It is nice he got this award. Now, if only we could get the refs to throw a flag for him once in a while, all would be normal again. He gets beat more than a rented mule and I can't recall the last time they threw a flag for roughing that went our way.
