Not faster. Better, eh, maybe. But he's also being used a hell of a lot more than Wallace.

Wallace isnt even the fastest guy on our team...

I didn't say Wallace was the fastest guy on our team. I said he was faster than DeSean Jackson.

I watch them both just about every week since I'm in the Philly area. I'm not sure who's faster but DeSean is better now. Mike may pass him in the near future but he's not in the same class yet.

This is easy, Djackson is def faster, and he is the better receiver by far. Mike wont be on Djacksons level until next year. Which is saying alot tbh because mike would be in his third year next year. Sorry I love Wallac but djackson has the upper hand.

2 different types of speed. We already had a thread about this. DeSean Jackson has more elusive speed and Mike Wallace has more straight line speed. Mike Wallace is a better pure deep threat but DeSean does more at the moment. Mike Wallace can be stiff at times, DeSean Jackson is ellusive as all hell.

Wallace has the faster 40 time so wallace is faster. Jackson is just utilized more in punt returns and such. If we put wallace on returns I bet he could do the same things jackson is doing.

DeSean returns punts..........He is elusive as hell and more elusive then Wallace.....

As a WR I think they both are close and I really couldn't say who is better....Both are damn good WR's and young......

I believe Wallace can do the same thing Jackson do also if we use him the same way, I agree with u M.Wittman, U can't guard Wallace off the Line of scrimmage if u do u see what the results will be, I haven't seen enough of D.Jackson this year so i'm being a little bias, maybe that will be the topic of Superbowl sunday this Feb:thinking: Just sayin

Ike isn't faster than Wallace. When Ike ran his 40 way back he had a ridiculous unofficial time, but I don't think he's close at this point in his career. Wallace's game speed is ridiculous. He looks like a cheetah when he's running. Several different teammates, including Tomlin and Ben, have already said he's the fastest player they've played with.

as a complete player jackson is better but as a receiver I think Mike has the edge. Excluding thrusday game, Mike wallace still has more yards, more receptions, more touchdowns and better hands(opinionated) than desean jackson.

Ike ran a sub 4.3 at that place they train in California one years ago. There is a difference between track times and actual speed on the field though.

I don't know who is fastest on the clock.I like the idea of comparing these two guys because of the similarities.
Phisically, they are build the same, about the same height, skinny(Jackson looks skinner),
Jackson is on a higher level as of now,but Wallace is emerging very quickly.

can somebody find LINKS on these guys 40 speed

I guarantee you Mike Wallace in pads is faster than Taylor in pads. I also guarantee you he's faster than Johnny Knox, who had a faster 40 than both.

Mike Wallace's 40 is an official 4.33 seconds.
DeSean Jackson's 40 is an official 4.35 seconds.
I'm not finding an official time for Ike Taylor but I am reading that he's been clocked running a 4.26 40.

There's your answer folks. Case closed.

I don't care who is faster on paper. Wallace is a Steeler, and I have yet to see anyone catch him on the field.

I'm very happy the the Steelers have three young receivers who are fast with good hands. The Rooks are improving weekly also.

Game speed is a lot different than your 40 time. 40 is a measure, sure but I don't hold much into it at all. One good day on the track shouldn't be indicative of who is consistently the fastest on the field in pads. Just look at Wallace when he's in full stride.

The question was who is faster. I was answering the question.
