View Full Version : Why Bengals could stun host Steelers

Venue: Heinz Field

Last time at site: Bernard Scott scored the game's only touchdown on a 96-yard kickoff return to help the Bengals knock off the Steelers, 18-12, in Week 10 of last season.

Reason for road optimism: Most teams really struggle in Pittsburgh, but Cincinnati has played surprisingly well at Heinz Field when Carson Palmer is under center. The quarterback is 3-2 in five road starts against the Steelers. While the Bengals have been one of the league's most disappointing teams, they nearly beat the Steelers earlier this year, and always get up for this particular opponent. Winning this one game would help Cincinnati salvage something from this woeful season.

The Steelers are coming off a gritty victory at Baltimore and have put themselves in position for a division title and a first-round bye in the playoffs. The hard-hitting affair with the Ravens likely took something out of the Steelers, and this could set up as a classic trap game for Pittsburgh with the playoff-contending Jets up next week. The combination of the Bengals potentially playing this game as if it was their Super Bowl, and the tired Steelers looking ahead, might result in an upset.
