I remember that this guy was highly touted a couple of years ago and some were saying that the Steelers were going to take him. After being cut by the Bears and now the Jets, does anyone think he would be worth a shot? I would not mind seeing him come here, it's worth a shot. Is McClendon ever going to be an answer, or does a guy like Gilbert offer more upside?

I believe so.

I am looking at this from the perspective of McClendon versus Gilbert. Do you sign him to the practice squad to see if he can compete eventually?

Yeah everytime someone gets cut someone on here always makes a thread to see if we should pick him up.:evilshake:

This guy wasn't anygood for Bears which they run a 43 so i gave him benefit of the doubt but jets are a 34 so apparrently he just isn't cutting it even in his strength 34 defense.

With the injuries to Smith and Keisel right now i think it would be a good idea to sign him to the practice squad atleast to see what he can do.

Never heard of the guy considering that i ONLY follow the Steelers. But i guess having some young testoterone on our side would help out.

well, the forum is for the same thing :P With our current depth it would make sense to bring in another DE to compete a little.

I didn't say not to bring him in hell i thought we might have drafted him but now I'm glad we didn't, wouldn't hurt to give him a try though maybe the Jets already had good depth but who knows maybe he can entertain the starters by jumping out of the hot tub everyday,HA HA

I think giving Jarron Gilbert a chance would be more beneficial than harmful for our team given our lack of D-Line depth. Just because he didnt work out with the bears or jets doesnt mean that he wont help our team. Nobody runs a defense like Coach LeBeau. Also, remember James Harrison was cut multiple times by the Ravens as well as the Steelers(3X) before finally being given a chance.

Oh don't say that around here, a bunch of idiots wanted Lebeau's head a week or two ago.
