Man he played an even better game this week, had 2 VERY BIG PASS BREAK-UPS in the endzone which could of been the game clinching series but unfortunatley note due to jeff reed and some other dissapointing aspects of the game.

William gay has always played well as the nickel back. He's just not a starter. Good to see him playing well...

Yeah, he had a good game on yesterday. He's playing with a lot of confidence.

Most of us have said that Gay was not suited for the position he played last year. He fits in very well at the nickle now and he's making big plays to help the defense. At this point he's all good with the Steeler Nation.

When he signed my football at camp I told him he was going to have a great year!!

So glad to see him playing so well!!! :tt02:

ive said all along he'll have a bounceback season.....you all were too busy grouping him in with bruce arians as someone who needs to not be with the team anymore

not sure he was even in there on the last offensive play for the Ravens, but if he was an INT would have made him my favorite Steeler for the next 2 weeks.

Otherwise a very solid game from what I saw. Such a turnaround from last year when he was 1 on 1 with receivers.

He's very good at nickle. You just can't have him filling in for Troy.

I was a "Gay" basher last year and will always be a Arians basher, but Willie is playing very well, good job!

William Gay played a very good game. Gay made 2 great plays for us at the goalline. If the steelers made the first down during the last 2 minutes, we would have won the game and the game ball would had 2 go 2 William Gay. Alot of people were down on Gay all of last year!! he's not a very cover corner 1 on 1, but in the nickel - hes alot better. if he keeps playing like hes playing, hopefully we can resign him 4 the next couple of years.

He did good yesterday, He doesn't need to be filling in for Troy though as Steeler Babe said, he should have been blitzing and Troy should have been covering the endzone Dick got that call wrong yesterday...

Yes, and you led the wagon!?

I've said all along that Gay was a great NB, but not a great CB. I even said he played fairly decent in the first few games last year...

Gay is one of these guys that is just not good enough to cover the opposition's 1 or 2 receiver and isn't really big or physical enough to play safety, but he fits perfectly into the nickel role we have him in now. And to his credit, he has been a great team player and not complained a bit from what I can tell.

I led the wagon????

YOU LIE!!! (In my Joe Wilson voice)

I've said all along that Gay was a great CB. I even said he was better than Darrelle Revis...

Fixed it for you. :greengrin::nahnah:

Gay has been outstanding this year, I will completely take back what I said about him last year if he keeps this up. Great job from him this far.

He's played well in the first few games but he needs to do a lot more than that to give me a change of heart. He single-handedly cost us 4 games last season. Until he starts making splash plays, I will still look at him as the guy who was picked on by guys like Gradkowski, Brady Quinn and Matt Cassell.
