Just saw on Steelers.com that Dixon was put on IR and they brought up McLendon again to fill his spot. Makes sense cause this team only has 5 healthy D linemen for tomorrow, McLendon will be the 6th and we'll have 2 active QB's, Batch and Leftwich, and Ben will be the 3rd when his suspension is done.

I am sad that Dixon didnt play better when he got his shot. I think, assuming the CBA is the similar, we tender him the amount that would give us the same round pick we spent on him (5th) and hope somebody takes him. I just dont think he ever lived up to his talent/potential.

McClendon gets cut monday to make room for Ben...

I dont understand... McLendon is just gonna be inactive tomorrow like last time. So whats the point really?

He wasn't inactive. He recovered one of James Harrison's forced fumbles...

If this were any other game other than an AFC North matchup, they may have let it go as is for another week and then put him on IR. Given how physical these divisional games are, they probably just don't want to take any chances.

Think about it too, they haven't said much about Dixon's injury since it happened. Initially it was that he was out about 3 weeks. Then after the surgery it was announced that he'd be out up to 6 weeks. They left themselves the option of making this move all along. When Dixon went down and then Hoke got hurt, this was probably doing to be the ultimate solution even before they did it. Ben will start, Batch has proved himself capable enough to be the backup and Lefty should be back to full health by the time the by is over.

We just need to come out of tomorrow's matchup as healthy as we can so no other moves have to made.
