Good morning guys....

Since I only saw what was shown on NFL Redzone (thank you Comcast), and what I saw in my fantasy football stats (I have the Steeler's defense :yellowthumb:), I didn't see the game in its entirety like a lot of you (I live in Atlanta). I was wondering if one of you guys can give a synopsis on the team's performance as a whole. Thanks in advance.

We watched it at a local Steelers bar and it was great. The people on here can do a much better synopsis than I can but I want to say that there was one thing that stuck out for me (other than the defense which was fantastic). At one point there were 5 OL players out there, none of whom started for the Steelers last year: It was Hills, Legursky, Pouncey, Adams, and Foster, I believe, but was hard to keep up with because the linemen kept dropping like flies because of the heat and injuries (Essex hurt his ankle). The only one who played every snap on offense was Pouncey.

Thanks.....but I don't do bars. :tt02:

I guess what I really want to know is how did the Special Teams as a whole look? I saw the TD by Brown. But I heard Sylvester was knocking heads out there.

Also, how would you grade the offensive line? RBs? LBs? 2ndary? WRs? Coaching? etc.

Thanks again....

Excuse me, it was Scott and not Foster who was playing.

Oline was bad, but they were dealing with rotations, Scott got beat and Dixon coughed up the ball.

Pouncey was the only bright spot IMO.

Sylvester is a beast that doesn't stop!

We won't know about our WR's until Ben comes back, we have no QB able to spread the ball around...

82 is bad and is not worth the roster spot, he has no motor left!

The team has played about how I expected. I didnt think the defense would play that well, but I knew they were capable of being great. The offense is bad, the special teams are better than last year and the D is amazing. If our defense plays this well when Ben is back, there is no reason not to expect a division championship and us going deep in the playoffs.

Ok, thanks guys. :yellowthumb::tt02:

Honestly, one of the best defensive football games i have seen in a long time. A few points i'd like to hit:

-Timmons, Woodley and Harrison define the term "B.M.F's" They (along with Troy, Clark and anyone else who got a hand on him) PUNIHSED Chris Johnson. He literally quit, i couldnt believe it, but he quit early in the 2nd half... every tackle was VIOLENT, i think i saw him wave a white Flag. Props to the whole defense... esp they 3 B.M.F's i mentioned and Troy.
-VY got embarrased and it almost seemed like the defense took it personally that he was in the game. He had no where to run, no where to throw and eventually he got caught in a Woodley/Keisel/Harrison sandwhich and ended up getting body slammed on his head. That about ended his day and prob should have been a penalty! lol
-ST's coverage was a bit shakey i must say. Not terrible but it needs to be tightened up a bit for sure.
-Wrs/TE's did as much to hurt the Qbs this week as they did to help them last week. Dropped TD for Ward. Dropped 1st down late in the 3rd for Heath. Not a good game for any offensive skill position except for Mende and Redman who ran hard.

In all fairness to VY, this was his first time facing Dick LeBeau's defense. He said that the Steelers did some things he had never seen before. I didn't expect him to fair well because, as we all know, not many QBs do. I saw the video of that "sandwich" sack. All I can say is "Wow!" I'm surprised he got up after that.

Vince Young is overrated plain and simple and never had a snowballs chance in hell of doing anything special against this Steelers defense. People in the media were all over Young's nuts because of the game he had the previous week against the Raiders the same goes for Chris Johnson as well saying how they were going to run all over the field on the Steelers D. The Steelers I know heard and listened to all of this and you could tell they came out yesterday with a purpose and a huge pissed off chip on their shoulders. The Titans found out right away that the Steelers arent the Raiders fellas and Young and CJ found that out first hand when they were taking Timmons,Troy,Harrison and Woodley's foots out of their asses most of the game...

Great Def, Troy is working on league MVP. Good Special teams, our only TD. Not so good Off. Not bad, but really should have put up a 40 burger with 7 turn overs. The Steelers gave Ben more options as a rookie then what was given to Batch and Dixon....

Vince Young is not overrated. His record as a starter speaks for itself. However, I didn't think he would have success against this Steeler defense. But just because he didn't have a good outing vs. this defense doesn't mean he's overrated. The guy saved Jeff Fisher's *** last year, gave the Titans a legitimate shot to make the playoffs after a 0-6 start and still finished the season 8-8. How many QBs in the NFL can pull that off?

Eh, look at the teams he beat last year. None were playoff caliber teams (if i remeber correctly) VY plays well when Johnson is blowing up, most qbs do. He is over-rated when you look at where he was drafted, what he did in college and how long its taken him to solidify the starting job. I get what you're saying, the Steelers have made better QB's look worse. But Young did NOTHING well Sunday!

He can't control the teams he plays against. All he can do is play against the team who is on their schedule. He beat Arizona (10-6) and Houston (9-7), two playoff caliber teams, eventhough the Texans didn't make the playoffs last year. But that last second win vs. Arizona last season was classic.

I don't see how a QB who is 26-13 as a career starter is over-rated. He hasn't even played 3 full seasons as the starting QB.

You want overrated? Try Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco. :nahnah:
