Awesome news! This means that El's arm will be nice and loose to throw up some of those trick plays from 2005, and I love that they are acknowledging Redman as the short yardage bulldozer he is.

i do not hate redman, i think his preseason heroics are going to lead to regular season disappointments though

The only reason they kept him is to play back-up QB for the first few weeks....He'll be gone soon!

Haha, please man. El is gonna shut a lot of people's mouths when he is picking up short yardage first downs as a slot receiver. He may have lost some speed, but he is going to play just because of who he is and he WILL make plays. Watch.
And think what you want about Redman, he'll prove you wrong too. Ha.

At the expense of better plays that could have had if Sanders or Brown were ahead of him on the depth chart. Really all he does on our team is limit the offense even further.

:plus1: I LOVE how redman runs the ball... no doubt! But i gotta see it on sundays, consistantly before i start sippin the RED kool-aid. Not hating on him makin the 53 man roster, he DEF earned it this preseason.

ARE is the 6th best WR on this team and adds very little as a gadget play WR at this point is his career. With Hines and Heath we have two GREAT posession WR's. Wallace is working towards being that "everything" WR and i have confidence that he will be. That lil catch he had to win the GB game last year let me know he's ready to be a go to guy when you NEED a catch. So give me Sanders and Brown to stretch the field/run after the catch and you can have ARE. We could have kept Logan and it would have made more sense! All ARE is gonna do is hinder the growth of Sanders and Brown. Other than some leadership and a locker room presence i dont see why he is on this team!

For sure, Sanders and Brown are both much more talented than El at this point in his career. But like I said, El will play because of who he is. With Ben at QB, El will be able to make some plays. A good QB can make his receivers look good. I'm not saying he is going to have a great year, but he will catch some short yardage passes that may impact games. He may be the worst receiver on the roster, Battle and El are a wash imo, but he's gonna play so get over it. Sanders may take over as the 3rd receiver by week 8 or 9 if he progresses well and shows he can make plays. I won't argue that El isn't the most talented, but he has heart, and he isn't gonna hurt this team too much imo. He adds another veteran WR for these young guys (Wallace, Sanders, Brown) to look up to and learn from.

This is good news, we need a short yardage specialist. Russel was money at it a few years back, hopefully Redman will be successful as well.

Madness doesn't end

Josh Evans ‎(aka Gravity)
Yeah and that's Logans fault? he drives you 83 yards down the field yet we can't score. Dude you make no sense.

Max Thompson (aka homer)
LOL, I make more sense than you do. You're the only STEELERS fan I know that thinks Randle El sucks.... THE ONLY 1 THAT I'VE TALKED TO.

Sanders thinks about switching numbers. I personally like the 88.

Emmanuel Sanders: When a Dream Becomes Reality I have till tomorrow to decide what number imma wear. It's either #88(which has already been made famous), #15, or #11. I thought I knew what I wanted but I don't lol. What y'all think? Help ya boy out...

The ONLY thing El will ever be good for is trick plays. This isn't 2004, he isn't a top notch reciever anymore. Stop living in the past.

Redman will get a few carries a game, nothing major. As far as R-EL, if he sees the field anytime soon i'll be shocked!!

Top notch in 2004? He wasn't a top notch receiver in 2004....he was 3rd behind Plax and Hines, lol. His best year was 2005 I'd say, and of course he's lost a step or two in 6 years. He should be behind Sanders and Brown, but he'll play because of who he is, and the fact that he's a veteran guy.

He'll see the field. He's the third receiver right now, though he shouldn't be any higher than #5.

i dont think it will be long til sanders keeps el and his fear of the endzone/inability to create any separation at all off the field

I think that's the main reason b/c he's a veteran and they want to try and limit rookie mistakes with DD on the field. I think we'll be seeing a lot more of Sanders and Brown once Ben is back. I really like Sanders for a number of reasons and am excited about the prospect of seeing him on the field -- his hands, his athletic ability and his work ethic. He stayed in Pittsburgh all summer studying the playbook and watching film. I believe he will turn out to be one of the best draft picks (besides Pouncey) the Steelers have made in the past couple of years.
