Steelers cut roster to 75

The Steelers made their first wave of cuts to get down to Tuesday’s mandatory roster limit of 75, and an additional move included the release of a player who has a couple of Super Bowl rings.

The Steelers believe they have a rookie class with a lot of potential, and this was reflected in the initial wave of moves because none of those released was a rookie. The players waived included LB Brandon Renkart, CB David Pittman, FB Dwayne Wright and G Adrian Jones. Rookie guard Chris Scott was placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, and veteran OLB Andre Frazier – a part of the team for both Super Bowls XL and XLIII – was released from the injured reserve list.

No real surprises here. So, some guys will live to fight another day.

No major surprises with this wave of cuts, the tough ones will come after the last preseason game when they get down to the 53 player roster.

With the emergence of Redman, Vincent, and Dwyer...Wright was the logical choice for the chopping block at this point.

No surprises... Journeyman Adrian Jones prolly the closest thing.

Im assuming they came to an injurey settlement w/ Frazier?!? Not sure he would of made the squad anyways, fringe player then we drafted all those LB's.

Frazier always had so much talent but he's spent so much time on the bench from injuries he just never got a chance to shine. When he did take the field he was making plays.
