Steelers Swap Fullbacks
The Pittsburgh Steelers claimed fullback Dwayne Wright off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fullback Demetrius Taylor has been waived to make room for Wright on the 80-man training camp roster.
A fourth-round pick (111th overall) out of Fresno State in 2007 by the Buffalo Bills, Wright (5-11, 228) had 29 carries for 94 yards and caught 3 receptions for 17 yards in 15 games as a rookie.
After gaining 80 yards on 34 carries the following summer, Wright was waived by the Bills and spent the '08 season as a street free agent. Signed by the New York Giants last January, Wright failed to make the 53-man roster and again, spent the fall out of football before joining the Eagles in January.
The Eagles waived Wright on Sunday.
