Pittsburgh Steelers LB Lawrence Timmons writes in his blog that he has been working out twice a day and as a result is in serious shape. "I did a lot of great things in the off-season. It hasnít all been fun, though. Iíve been working out hard. Iím up to 248 pounds right now, no fat. Iíve got my abs back" writes Timmons. "Now itís time to get ready for training camp on Friday. Iíve been working out like a dog so camp will be easy for me and Iím in some serious shape. Iíve been working out hard, doing two-a-days, working out then running or lifting. My trainers have me on some supplements now and Iím improving my wind, speed and strength so everything is going well."

248 pounds for his 225 pound body is massive, hes gotta be ******* jacked. that also means hes gonna (probably) be less injury prone.

heres something else he put on the blog:

I have set some goals for myself this season. Making the Pro Bowl is No. 1 on my agenda, and of course we all want to win another Super Bowl. I want to be in the high teens in sacks, maybe 17 or 18. That would be a good way to help the team win.

If he halfway delivers on his goals, the D could return to form in a BIG way.

I just hope some of the others have taken advantage of the off season to bulk up and improve themselves so they can go out and win as a team. Go Steelers! :cope:

If he can achieve those goals, 2/3 of that sack total even we'll be a better defense for it. His rookie year was a wash out, but he's been getting steadily better ever since. He was ripped when we signed him but if he's put on that much muscle and still has his explosiveness and power then he could be a serious beast this season.

I liked the pick then as I do now. He has incredible quickness and I hope the added weight doesn't adversely impact his agility. I really didn't see a problem w/ his tackling, very solid, rather I felt he needed to play smarter not tougher. So we will see.

Will increased bulk make him more stable in the healthy dept? Not sure on that one.

Nice to hear.....I know you might think I'm still a bit of a Timmons hater......I'm not....I didn't like the pick of Timmons at first but I warmed quickly on Timmons.....I think he is a great play maker for this defense......I just would like to see him be more consistent......I think he is going to have a huge year and him bulking up should allow him to stay healthier like you said........I think his added size should allow him to be better against the run........With Timmons jacked up I don't see any RB's stoning him in blitz pick-up this year.......like in years past.......

Nice thanks for posting, I 'm real excited to see what this Defense do if they are healthy all year, Especially Timmons he has been injured every year so if he's healthy all year watch out...:tt02: http://affiliate.kickapps.com/_Serious-Shape/BLOG/2504059/62428.html?widgetId=18061

Bulking up wasn't his problem it was the over running plays in the run game that killed him and bulking up doesn't help him take the right angles. Healthier yes smarter no but man if he can connect on a tackle, wow here come the snot bubbles
