I don't think that Dixon is quite ready yet . He will be in due time , but i don't think it is his time just yet .

Tomlin has indicated that Leftwich will be the starter during Ben's absence (suspension).

I would like to see the kid get a shot as the starter but experience seems to trump over youth. Regardless, i'll be rooting for whomever gets the nod during Ben's suspension.

Dixon is still in the learning process . He could be something awesome , but i don't think he is ready to be thrown into the fire just yet . He did well at Baltimore , for his first ever start . I'm sure that will only benifit him on down the road . On down the road is the "key" statement . I agree he does need to be prepared , even at a minutes notice .
He needs to be a "minute" man . Minute man Dixon .

in live action, i dont see lefty sitting in the pocket taking hits... ben is like dion sanders compared to lefty... preseason will change the QB rotation IMO.

Leftwich is not a mobile qb he is actually very slow, showed last year in tampa.

Dixon has no arm strength, is very inaccurate, and doesn't know how to read defenses. He showed it last year playing with a 2 1,000+ yard receivers, a pro bowl tight end, and a 1,000 yard rusher :yellowthumb:

yeah, in his first ever nfl start, in a hostile environment, against a good to very good defense that always plays us well, WITH LESS THAN A DAY TO PREPARE FOR THAT START. if the defense could make a stop late in that game either on 3rd and long or the 4th and short, we win that game.

I like the potential of Dixon, but considering Ben will only miss four games Leftwich is the best options to get off to a fast start. With the improvement of Ratbird and Bungles the Steelers can't afford being 1-3 or 0-4 before Ben get back. With Dixon the Steelers would have to change their play calling, (more run to pass ratio) with Leftwich the ball will come out on time, and the passing game will not suffer as much.

BTW the sack will go down, because Ben does hold the ball longer than most.

with leftwich i see us going 1-4 with dixon i see us only losing to the ratbirds.
