Im lovin some Brandon Ghee in the 2nd

I think I'd rather just roll with Lewis and Burnett. I don't think any of these guys are significant upgrades to them. All of the good DBs have been taken in the first.
I'm for pushing for Tate. Give someone a 4th and 2 5ths and jump 10+ spots

I hear you...If they go DB im hoping they go for Nate Allen, maybe even Taylor Mays. There are a ton of guys i like that are possibilities. guys like:
Nate Allen
Terrence Cody
Sergio Kindle
Golden Tate
Arrelious Benn
Taylor Mays
Brandon Spikes
Thaddeus Gibson
Dexter McCluster
Rodger Saffold
maybe Morgan Burnett
Im really hoping for Nate Allen, Brandon Spikes, Sergio Kindle, or Thaddeus Gibson.

If kindle falls that far its a no brainer.. Same with Taylor Mays imo. Both would have really good value there.

Mays would be an okay pick at the 2nd round. we should trade up for kindle.
allen would be cool.
i dont think kindle makes it past the 49ers.
Rivals.com reported before the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday that former Texas linebacker Sergio Kindle might not be picked until later rounds because of a knee injury he sustained at one point this season. Teams see him as a "serious" medical risk because of his knee, which one team said looks like it could require microfracture surgery.

i think warren slips to the 6th/7th believe it or not.
cox, ghee, murphy or AOA please

Warren in the 6th could potentially be the biggest steal of this draft

warren has plummeted, from a potential first to a 6th round saftey prospect

andyg1984
04-23-2010, 09:35 AM
exactly, he was horribly coached and still balled, played against dez all the time and always played big against top competition (watch vs green) ...
gilyard, tate, and maybe even cody are all possibilities in a trade-up imo ...
holy sh^t i cannot blv jimmy clausen is still on the board ...

Or Jump up for Taylor Mays the value is awesome and he' doesnt have to start but would be awesome on special teams. If we moved up go for MT Cody,MAys,Golden Tate.
Did the steelers talk to cox? I know I didnt like one of the interviews he did,it let you know he just doesn't get it.

i just had a thought, what if Mike Tomlin wants Javier Arenas to battle against Gay since Javier has 34d experience and was the better CB on the team?
Javier Arenas in the 2nd? He would challenge Gay for the Start.I'm just tired of short CB.

KTrain, what do you think of AOA... I really like him
wouldnt want him to be anything more than a 4th corner as a rookie, but in a year or 2 he has all the making as a small school hero. id take him in the second at 52 maybe...in the 3rd id trade up for him

BlackGold4vr
04-23-2010, 11:24 AM
I like a CB in the second like Dominique Franks or Brandon Ghee
and I like Thaddeus Gibson(OLB) or Linval Joseph(DT) in the third
Anthony Dixon(RB) or Andre Roberts(WR) in the 4th

ghee, gibson, dixon
someone would have to pinch me
i think i like benn/tate, gibson, spikes/woods
but DAMN cody would look good at the 52nd pick

I agree i like Cody, he would be a great successor to Hampton, nobody would be able to run up the middle

i think we should wait for a safety or cornerback in
this is joke btw, hopefully ben gets suspended even longer so we have a legit shot at patrick peterson.
Not alot of Hampton/Cody clones, but there will always be a few good defensive backs.
coach
04-23-2010, 11:50 AM
Cody, Kindle, Gibson, LT, WR or a DB
At 52 we likley need to move up for Cody or Kimble. Cody would be a good rd 2 pick.
Gibson could be there for us.
Lots of good tackles still on te board and one could be there, but they will be taken early and often in top of 2nd so there probably won't be value there at 52.
If we go DB, I don't think Mays is a fit.
I think we are off to a good strat though and I think a move up in 2 is possible. This round could make this an extremely successful year.
I don't about the receivers. We need one but I think we could wait to 3 or 4. I guess it depends on who is there. I don't know that I would jump for a receiver?????
Silverback

I don't see Cody there when we pick it would have to be a trade up, IMO.

It could happen. I think Dan Williams proved that the need for NTs wasnt as big as anticipated. With his questionable work ethic he could very well fall to Steelers
K Train
04-23-2010, 12:12 PM
dan williams is no NT in our 34, he is a 43 DT but will work well in Azs gimmicky 34 they run

They said Kindle may need micro-fracture knee surgery is why he slipped and he"s on meds for Narcolepsy and A.D.D. If he slips he can have his surgery and will be a nice pickup for us.

Yes he's a Smurf,LOL but he was considered the best CB at Bama. Do you think Tomlin wants him to team up with Gay?

Charlie Casserly just said that the Steelers have always relyed on the pass rush and have had mediocre CB ( not counting Woodson ERA or earlier)and won the Super Bowl. We need a LB, CODY,DE or Safety.
scudmissile29
04-23-2010, 03:09 PM
Yeah Casserlly also said the jaguars would pick morgan #10.
our secondary would be screwed if not for polamalu, and we don't know how injury prone he is
coach
04-23-2010, 03:33 PM
What do you guys think of Mays in the second?
I think there is possible value but I think of him more of run support and lacking coverage based on reports. Do you think that fits our needs?
I think the focus will be WR and/or DB depending on who falls, and likley a WR. I still don't think I pick Mays in second.
strong D

mays has value in the middle of round 2 i think if u let troy mentor him he could be a good player in the nfl
