New England Patriots veteran free agent cornerback Leigh Bodden is a highly regarded commodity this morning at the launch of free agency.
According to an NFL source with knowledge of the situation, Bodden is drawing interest from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks and the Patriots.
Bodden remains a candidate to re-sign with the Patriots, but is exploring the free agent market at this time.
Bodden signed a one-year contract with the Patriots last year. He started 14 of the 15 games he played for the Patriots.
Against the New York Jets, Bodden intercepted rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez three times with one returned for a touchdown.
He finished the season with a team-high five interceptions, along with 55 tackles, 18 pass deflections and one forced fumble.
For his career, Bodden has intercepted 18 passes.

Here are the most interesting stories Friday in the AFC North:
The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of several teams interested in free-agent cornerback Leigh Bodden.
Morning take: Bodden went to nearby Duquesne University and spent time in the AFC North with the Cleveland Browns. But a bidding war with other teams could rule Pittsburgh out.

:whatever: Bodden is better than Gay but, who isn't

He's got a nose for the football, and wonder of all wonders, he actually makes interception when given the chance instead of dropping them like our guys did last year. I don't know how much we'll actually be in the running for him but it sure would be nice to have him in the mix. That would immediately upgrade our secondary in a big way.

it is nice to hear the words Steelers, interested, free agent in the same sentence that doesnt include the words CFL or UFL.

Give it time, I'm pretty sure we'll start to see the 2nd tier bottom feeders visiting the teams' facility in the coming weeks just like always :nonod:
