Brandon Hunt

The Steelers hired a new pro scouting coordinator and they found him in one of their favorite talent spots.

Brandon Hunt replaces Doug Whaley, who left the Steelers to become assistant general manager of the Buffalo Bills. Hunt, a Pine Richland High School graduate, becomes the third graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania to fill the position.

Previously, IUP grads Tom Donahoe and Tom Modrak served as the team's pro scouting coordinators. Hunt started four years at IUP at guard and center from 2000 to 2003. After serving as a graduate assistant at the college, he joined the Steelers as a scouting intern in 2005 and 2006.

He has been a pro scout for the Houston Texans the past two seasons.

We lost a good scout but it was for the good but i'm a bit sceptic of this new guy until he can prove himself.......

Donahoe and Modrak are 2 of the best in the business, if this guy is anything like they were we'll do well. Houston has some real nice talent on that roster, if this guy was responsible in some way for helping make that happen then that's a plus right out of the gate.

maybe I'm just old school, you see a young guy come in like that and you just wonder if he has the right experience. :dunno: Just saying.

Sooner or later these newer guys have to break into the business, and if you're going to go that route then you might as well go from the hotspot that has been good to you for so long. We'll wait and see how he does, the type of talent we bring in over the next couple years will be a good indication of his abilities, or not.

being a pro scounting coordinator is not that hard when you work for the Steelers, since we hardly ever bring in anyone other than backups to our current backups, and ST players through FA.
