I feel like this would be a good topic...

Would you rather: Have the Steelers make the playoffs not knowing what could happen?

OR

Would you rather: Have the Steelers miss the playoffs, giving them a more talented draft pick and a better opportunity to become younger?

Personally I say playoffs but I would like to know what you all think.

Anytime you have a chance to make the playoffs, you have to be happy because as we showed a few years in SBXL, there's always chance for something good to happen. You never know who is going to get hot and make a run in the postseason. Championships are hard enough to come by as it is.

You're front office has to be draft savvy enough to make the right choices so you stay competitive every year. Granted had we not sucked the year before drafting Ben we'd have never gotten him and who knows where we'd be today.

Playoffs, no way can you pass up the opportunity for a shot at # 7. Besides until they fix the rookie salary situation the top picks rarely live up to the hype or their earnings.

Playoffs no doubt. This game is all about hoisting that Lombardi Trophy in early February. And if youre in the playoffs regardless of what seed you are you have the opportunity to do just that...

I agree with all of you. Scrolling down and reading playoffs, Jim Mora popped in my head.

Too many bad teams in the NFL who'll end up with much worse records, we won't even get that high of a pick so I rather be in the playoffs, especially if Roethlisberger and Polamalu are healthy

Playoff all the way. Regardless, they are going to get a draft pick (just a question of where). But as a fan of a sports team, a championship is great, but all you really want is something to root for; a hard playing, competitive football team. To expect a championship every year is a little "Steinbrenner-ish" and unrealistic.

Well said Harrison couldnt agree with you more. Steelers fans do need to realize that as good as this team has been over the last 15 years or so they are not going to win the Super Bowl every single year. All you can ask for is a competitive team that has a chance to win week in and week out like the Steelers team has. Winning 2 Super Bowls and being able to attend 2 Super Bowl Championship parades and celebrations like I have in 4 years is something I will never take for granted and something I will not complain about in the very least...

Playoffs, what's the difference in picks? 5-10 depending on how far you go?

And it is for this reason that the Steelers have employed 3 HC's in the past 30 years. If the Rooney's had another thought process, Cowher never would have made it past 5 years when you consider all the AFCCG failures he experienced.
