View Full Version : Vikings Poem (10.25.09)

A record crowd came to Heinz for a game featuring Ben vs Brett
An offensive explosion is what we thought we would get

Instead what happened when the undefeated Vikings came to town
Was a really good game – it was a defensive showdown

There was no score until the first with about 4 minutes remaining
Then a nullified TD left the Steelers fans complaining

We settled for three and then the Vikings scored
Adrian Peterson put a TD on the board

Right before halftime came 2 big passes from Ben
And a Mike Wallace TD put us in the lead again

We added points in the third but that wasn’t what was exciting
We had a goal line stand as our defense kept on fighting

Speaking of our defense they couldn’t have played much greater
Woodley returned a fumble and a pick 6 would come later

Percy Harvin would answer - returning the kickoff 88 yards
But it wasn’t the Vikings day - a win wasn’t in the cards

We had stopped Adrian Peterson for most of the day
But then he broke a big one running over William Gay

Chester Taylor replaced Peterson and then to the Vikings horror
A pass went through his hands and then Keyaron Fox was the next scorer

The Vikings may have dominated the stats but the Steelers still won
And the game was an instant classic when all was said and done

No football for a week because the Steelers have their bye
But then comes a trip to Denver to play the Broncos at Mile High

The altitude is a common topic but it does not have to be a reason
Why we can’t continue our winning streak this season
