Steelers safety Tyrone Carter has been fined $5,000 for a hit he made on Chicago Bears tight end Greg Olsen in a 17-14 loss last Sunday.
Carter leveled Olsen following a catch along the sidelines and jarred the ball loose. He did not get penalized on the play that left Carter with a thigh contusion but the NFL fined him for a hit to the head.
"Unreal," said Carter, who plans to appeal the fine. "I watched the play over and over and I hit him in the shoulder. The NFL sees something different."
Carter played at less than 100 percent following the hit and he said he had trouble walking at the beginning of the week. He said his left leg has improved to the point that he will try to participate fully in practice today.
Carter, who has been starting at strong safety for the injured Troy Polamalu, said he doesn't have any doubt that he will be able to play Sunday against the Bengals.
"I know I won't be 100 percent," Carter said, "but as long as I'm around that 90 (to) 95 I'll be alright."
Man, talk about double jeoparty! That's messed up......
Not to mention, I don't like hearing that he's not 100% neither. :duh:
