Mendenhall who???????

Our 2nd string RB who is a LOCK to make the team. Something redman is not. I know he scoring and its exciting but come on. keep your shirt on. "Mendenhall who?" come on man.

I don't understand why Mendenhall was sitting out after 4 carries. Kind of irritating due to the fact he has been so on and off. The loss right before he was taken out of the game, however, was not his fault at all.

Steelers better put Redman on the practice squad. You can never have enough RB's period. Ask any coach in this league.

Redman has something to prove, Meny don't (he knows he's made it)...

Beg to differ. He has a lot to prove even though he's made the team (and did so solely because he's a first round pick). He needs to keep those legs moving and break tackles with more authority if he doesn't want to go down as a first round bust.

b/c Parker hurts himself checking his email  so they wanted to have at least one fresh RB come week one!

honestly i agree with pulling him in this game...this game is for bubble players and you really dont want players that are a big part of your team or big investments to play against guys with their jobs on the line....they play for the big hit and the big play....no reason any starter should play more than a series and i dont even like rotational players in for very long.

If his moves, vision and knack for the endzone doesn't convince you Mendy fans he is worth a try then I don't know what to say, He has shown me more promise in 4 preseason games then mendy. Mendy has the talent but just can't get it going consistently. If we don't give him a chance someone else will and I have faith in the FO in this situation because they actually get to see this guy everyday.

I'm sure the Steelers want to put Redman on their practice squad but they have to go through 31 teams for him to clear waivers. I don't know if a lot of the cut players will make it back to our PS cause teams know we have a knack for talent.

Redman wouldn't last even if he made it to the practice squad. He's getting to much notice to just sit on a PS....:imho:

theres preseason phenoms every year....its not like were releasing polamalu. sure someone might pick redman up but its not like someone wants him so desperately bad that all they are doing is waiting tto see if he gets released

So are you saying we shouldn't keep logan, since he is having a "phenom preseason"
There are First round busts every year too(mendy). Did you see that TD he made, there isn't a RB on the roster that would have got that TD not even spin happy mendy.
This is why you are sitting behind a computer and not in the front office. Sorry but you have to give this kid a chance and if he fail during the season then we lose nothing but if he does what he has been doing then we gain a hell of a RB. I wish Mendy would come on but he just ain't doing nothing spectacular as Redzone is.

ok i respect your mancrush on redman but when everything boils down theres no room on the roster for him.

logan fills a huge need, a gaping hole in our team....RB we are set at and like it or not but mendenhall has been running with authority. you dont have to like him, thats fine, but we will be calling evander hood a bust before we call mendenhall one

IMO, I think alot of seem to forget that Mendenhall has yet to play a full season. Last season up until he got hurt, he was coming along well for a rookie (until he got the **** knock out of him). I feel until he takes a few licks this season and builds his confidence back up, he'll come around and start play up to his natural abilities. :crossfingers:

not every RB is adrian peterson. some people dont understand that

Does Redman deserve to make the team?...I think he does but I don't see how he is going to make it......Parker, Mendenhall, Moore, and yes Carey Davis are locks......I guess the Steelers could keep 5 RBs then if so it will be Redman.....But Logan is going to make it as a return specialist so there is another spot....Logan would be a RB/WR......

I think all this talk of Redman being better then Mendenhall is bit pre-mature.....I agree Redman has been impressive and I like how hard he runs.......But I'm not going to give up on the first round pick who the front office thought was worthy of that first round pick just yet......I can't wait until Rashard Mendenhall breaks some big plays to shut all the doubters up......

I have yet to see Mendy run with authority. Sure he shows a burst and gets thru a hole when there is one, but when there isn't....authority was left in his locker. He has also not shown that when he is one on one with a smaller defender, to take advantage of it.

Mendenhall needs to take pointers fro Redman who runs the way young runningbacks were taught, keep your legs driving and fight for yardage.
If Mendy was carrying the ball last night (on the play Redman scored on) he would not of gotten in the endzone.

Not throwing him nder the bus...just calling it like I've seen it.

I'm hope Mendy gets it and loses the timidness he has shown. Is he getting a little better? Yes. Is he where he needs to be? Needs alot of work. IMO
I do not feel comfortable at this stage of his game that if Willie should go down with an injury havin Mendy step in.
Thank god Moore is on our team.

I'm not a huge Mendy fan, and I hope I feel like an *** midseason! Here is my exact thought of the 2:

Mendy runs scared, he lacks confidence on and off the field!

Redman runs balls out, he meets defenders and challenges them!

Is Mendy more groomed for the pro's, sure. But me personally I'd hate to throw Redman away!

of course redmans runs balls out.....he was an undrafted FA...id be worried about him if he didnt run recklessly

i think alot of you will be surprised with mendenhall this year and be saying redman who?

If no one had known Redman was cut, but was told Carey Davis was gone, you would have thought for sure he would have made the team. This is a mistake by the FO in my opinion taking Frank over Redman.

oh...i agree. summers is now my least favorite player on the roster, i cant wait to see him cut in the very near future. i thought davis had that spot based on being established at sucking, now we need to watch this bum go through the growing pains of sucking.

redman is better than summers, no doubt, id give him that spot over summers every time and use johnson as a FB

Redman did have a sick touchdown and the kid does run hard no doubt about it but give Mendenhall a chance. Let him play an NFL game first geez.

I'm not a Mendenhall hater by any means, and I'd like to see him succeed.... but "Let him play an NFL game first"? He had the same opportunities Redman had in the preseason and IMO Redman ran circles around him. :OA02:

Yes against players you have never heard of and never will hear of again. It is/was the damned pre-season, chill. It tells us nothing to be perfectly honest.

Redman wasn't cut because he wasn't good enough ... he was cut because he's a one dimensional player. He lacks the versatility to play multiple positions. In addition to that, the position he was trying out for ... RB ... was as deep as we've seen it in a looong time.

I hate to say it, but there are at least a dozen other Redman out there tonight who now find themselves without a team.

Pre-season is completely different for the real thing. Redman did a great job and all but it's not like we need him. Parker is our starting RB and he has shown he's more than capable. Mendenhall has SO much potential. and Moore runs just as hard and is such a solid running back.

He ran against the Steelers D in practice...(cue Allen Iverson)...PRACTICE? Practice? ARE WE TALKING ABOUT PRACTICE??!!

If he clears waivers (which I think he will, b/c he was impressive against a bunch of 3rd stringers) then we have that much more depth (since you guys seem to think Redman is a future All-Pro) at RB if someone gets hurt.
