After reading a great article called "Saturday's Training camp One-Liners" by No l Gravity l, I was curious to know who this linebacker was wearing #50. I stumbled upon a picture of him while at Steelers.com and realized that it is a familiar face. It is not a diamond in the rough undrafted free agent. It is Steelers 2008 3rd Round Pick.

Yes, it is Bruce Davis. He wore #53 last year and I guess he wanted to change it to #50 after Larry Foote left.

I have to give props to No l Gravity l for his observation when he stated in his article that he didn't know who #50 was but he was big and kind of slow and was probably a college DE converted to OLB. Of course Bruce Davis was a DE at UCLA and converted to OLB for the Steelers.

I just wanted to inform those who may have also been curious about #50.

With Foote now gone this will give a chance for Davis to move up the food chain and hopefully get some playing time to see if that day 1 pick we spent on him will be worth it.

He is the 2nd leading sacker in UCLA history. He might take a year or 2 (or 3) to get to a professional level that is acceptable with the Steelers.. I hope that he gets it going this year and becomes a good sub for Woodley or Harrison when they take breathers...

his college highlights suggest he is a natural pass rusher .. hope to see that from him in the pros

It might take hime a couple of seasons to get going, but I think that he will be a good player inthe future.
