If Jim Balsillie---Blackberry---is successful in purchasing the Phoenix Coyotes it think it will be a new conference for the Pens. The match up against Detroit could be a regular item next year if the Pens are thrown into the same division. It would be great but for old time Pens fans--the Flyers, and the others they have played would be a great loss but for Hockey it would be fantastic. Having Crosby (the Gretsky of this generation) it would help to keep the west focused on hockey when he is playing in their city. Columbus and Detroit would be a natural rival and to some degree---Nashville and Chicago could be....
It is a natural move...so if the Pens do play Detroit in the Stanley Cup finals it could be the last time we see this!!!!

I'm assuming this is an opinion. If they had to move a team to a new conference I don't see it being the Pens.

It will be a cold day in H E double hockey sticks before Gary Bettman allows Jim Balsillie in the NHL ownership group.

There is no way the Pens move to the Western Conference. It doesn't even mnake sense.

Why should the move to the west when the Penguins already have great rivalries in their division with the Devils, Flyers, and Rangers?????
