I won't quibble over draft positions. Are there any other names of players who have visited that aren't listed? I figure when we have our 30 visits completed we can get a better picture of possible outcomes.

S4EV--Didn't they have visits with two Pitt kids and one PSU player, but because they were "local," they didn't count against the "30 visits limit?"

McKillop, the Pitt guard, and the center from PSU?

One additional comment.

I think Vasquez is a third or even second round pick. (Remember, where we draft at #32 in the round is almost like a #1 in the following round.)

Harris the DLineman, because of height and weight (6'4" and 300 lbs) and so many teams either playing or going to a 3-4, I think, gets grabbed before the seventh.

Yeah, Scott McKillop (ILB), C.J. Davis (OG), and A.Q. Shipley (C) all visited the Steelers.

But, they are players which the team could draft, so--in essence--they'are "freebie meetings."

The NFL gives all teams the local freebies so its not really an advantage for anybody unless you have no Div1A colleges closeby.

Added Herman Johnson to the list. He is reportedly coming in tomorrow with Alex Mack to the Steelers facilities. There sure are a lot of interior lineman on this list

I've got to watch Mike Thomas play on several occasions and the kid is super fast and a play maker... He actually reminds me of a Santonio Holmes type. He set the Pac-10 record for most catches this past season and every time he touched the ball you got the feeling he was going to do something special with it.

Added Fili Moala who is supposed to be visiting today with Alex Mack and Herman Johnson. 14 more visits to go. We will get a pretty clear picture of what they are doing when we see the complete list of players who visited. So far I see a lot of interior lineman, cornerbacks, and d-lineman.

Last year we only drafted 2 of the players we brung in. I know it was because Mendenhall and Sweed wasnt suppost to be there, but just saying. Dose anyone know if we have a strong history of drafting players we bring in?

Yeah they aren't afraid of small school prosepects and aren't affraid to draft what is deemed a reach. Chris Johnson was considered a pretty big reach and Jason Jones was considered a huge reach last year. I think Jeff Fisher will be thinking you Jevon Kearse with Sidbury.

alphonso would be the only corner id be ok with taking in the first not named davis...id still be pissed though

I already had Alphonso Smith listed so the number is 24 visits that I know of. A noticeable name missing from this list is Max Unger which is funny because many of the experts still have us taking Unger including Jamie Dukes latest mock. Maybe its a way to camoflauge your true intentions by not inviting the players you actually want. LOL

Just got this off the Trib review site:

Four college prospects are visiting the Steelers today, including Ball St. quarterback Nate Davis, in advance of next weekend's NFL draft.

Also meeting with the Steelers coaches at the team's South Side facility are Miami (Fla.) linebacker Spencer Adkins, Oregon State offensive lineman Andy Levitre and Temple wide receiver/return specialist Travis Shelton.

The Steelers have hosted 27 out of area prospects and NFL rules allow 30 such visits.

Friday is the last day college prospects are permitted to visit NFL teams
