PITTSBURGH (AP)—Evgeni Malkin (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/3638/;_ylt=AraX0HzrkUSbNg9M492OvKcrvLYF) scored Pittsburgh’s first goal and then decided the shootout for the Penguins, who rallied from two goals down in the third period and beat the Florida Panthers (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/fla/;_ylt=AqdIX7NXtzPyJnj5hMRCuj8rvLYF) 4-3 Tuesday night for their seventh consecutive victory.
The winning streak is the Penguins’ longest since they won eight in a row from Dec. 23, 2007, through Jan. 10, 2008.
Kris Letang (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/4064/;_ylt=AiIj2bJMnRACsI66OgAnIIIrvLYF) and Malkin each got the puck past Tomas Vokoun (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/1541/;_ylt=AgE4pmoAU7lqJZTIgQC3Q2YrvLYF) as the Penguins won their second shootout in three days, following a 4-3 decision Sunday in Washington.
Sidney Crosby (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/3737/;_ylt=AhJUH3mKWGTEwzEh5nn0d9IrvLYF) scored the tying goal and assisted on NHL scoring leader Malkin’s 30th during Pittsburgh’s ninth win in 11 home games.
The Penguins, with 78 points, moved one ahead of Florida and into sixth place in the crowded Eastern Conference playoff race after the two began the night tied for seventh.

Another great game! Definitely no dull moment. The last period was intense and so was OT. Nice to see Geno score the game winner with his parents in the stands.

The Pens are back, I was beginning to think that they would miss the playoffs. It's not a coincidence that they are playing better at the same time that Gonchar returns. He is as important as Sid or Geno, he enables them to think offensively. Bylsma is very lucky that Gonchar returned the same time he took over. :)
