Pos | LT | LG | C | RG | RT
Player | Starks | Kemo | Hartwig | Stapleton | Colon
SAR | 14 | 31 | 32 | 26 | 17

*SAR = Sacks Allowed Rank (at position)

As you can see we were the weakest in the middle. A good case for drafting Alex Mack!

If you divide the number of sacks by the games played you can come up with a sacks per game number. You can then use that number to multiply with the number of games missed (Starks started 11 games so you would multiply his number by 5 to see where he would have fallen in a 16 game season). Doing the math Starks would project out another 1.8 sacks in those other 5 games. This would knock him down a couple spots but consider this. Rounding 5.8 up to 6 sacks allowed in 16 games still puts Max only 1.5 sacks behind Joe Thomas who started for the AFC in the pro-bowl.

Kemo/Hartwig/Stapleton were all 3 close to the worst at their position.

The O-line was the weak link all season. Look at the SB. 3 times we had 1st and goals inside the ten and came away with 2 field goals. Can't say well that was just the passing game. Our running game was ranked 23rd. We won because Ben along with Hines and Santonio made a lot of huge plays to overcome the poor blocking. Hartwig gave up the 2 points in the SB because he was getting abused. :yesnod:

Ben only praises his O-line because he has to, I'm sure he goes home, sits in his hot tub and prays for the Steelers to get him some "help".

This is where I found them. Obviously someone else has painstakingly done the research and compiled this list.

A #1 defense can compensate for a lot of flaws. Look at the Ravens SB and their offense had problems scoring. I believe our skilled positions on offense are very good. We have a great QB, some explosive wide receivers, great running backs with the exception of Carey Davis, and an exceptional tight end. All we need for all of this to really work well is a better O-line. Can't be soft in the middle of the line like we are and expect consistent results. :yesnod:
