Thinking about Ben's SB passing this morning.....film study, review of play by play is now indelibly in my mind. Consider:
Prior to the final drive, only 3 of Ben's completions could be considered downfield, all of which came in 1Q.....those being the 38 yarder to Hines, 21 yarder to Heath on opening possession, and the 3rd & 10 "eyes in back of head" throw to Heath on 2nd possession:
*4 of Santonio's 5 catches prior to final drive were of the catch on LOS, get what you can variety, the 5th was a short slant.
*Besides the two to Heath already mentioned, he caught a screen, a short pop to the one, and swing on 3rd & long, 4Q, coming up well short of the sticks
*Hines other catch was a 5 yarder, same for Spaeth's single catch, Davis caught 1 for 6, FWP's lone catch lost 2 yards
Ben's 9 incompletes came sort of in bunches
*2 on final drive
*3 within 4 plays in 3Q inside the 10
*1 pick late 2Q
*deep ball to Nate 1Q
*deep ball to Santonio that Rogers-Cromartie made a play on (this & prior one gave illusion that R-C was playing well....he wasn't)
*drop by Hines on 1st down from our 1, 4Q
Steelers went downfield early & late, really nothing at all downfield in 2Q, 3Q, up to 2-somethng left 4Q
