Here's a post by a guy called jakeinprogress, a Steelers fan on another site I go to, Prosportsnation (PSN). I thought it was a good post, and thought I'd share it with you all.

"PSN members, football fans, and acquaintances, lend me your ears.
I come to bury the Steelers, not to praise them.
The good are oft interred with their quarterbacks; so let it be with the Steelers.
The noble Roethlisberger hath told you the Steelers were ambitious in their attempts to repeat.
If it were so, it was a grievous fault, and greviously hath the Steelers answered for it.
Here, under leave of Roethlisberger and the rest
(For Roethlisberger is an honorable fan,
So are they all, all honorable fan),
Come I to speak at the Steelers’ funeral.
They were my team, faithful and just to me;
But Roethlisberger says they were ambitious,
And Roethlisberger is an honorable man.
He hath brought many victories home to Pittsburgh,
Whose accumulation did the playoff coffers fill;
Did this in Roethlisberger seem ambitious?
When that the team hath struggled, Roethlisberger hath acceded;
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff

RIP Pittsburgh Steelers 2006: Hail to the king, the king is dead."

Exactly. That's why I responded on that thread with this:

O pardon me, thou bleeding team of steel,
that I am meek and gentle with these referees!
Thou art the ruins of the noblest team
that ever played in the NFL.
Woe to the hands that fumbled so many times!
Over thy wounds now do I prophesy,
Which, like dumb mouths, do ope their ruby lips,
To beg the voice and utterance of my tongue,
A curse shall light upon the teams of the NFL,
Offensive fury and fierce defensive blitzes
shall cumber all the teams of the league.
Blood and destruction shall be so in use,
and dreadful losses so familiar,
that coaches shall but smile when they behold
their teams dominated by the hands of Pittsburgh,
all pity choked with custom of fell deeds
And Roethlisberger's spirit, ranging for revenge,
with Joey Porter by his side come hot from the bottom of the standings,
Shall in these confines with a champion's voice
Cry "Havoc," and let slip the dogs of war,
that this foul season shall smell above the earth
with beaten opponents, groaning for the game to end.

I love how some people are so quick to give up on a team, but those are the same people that probably gave up on the World Champs last year. Yes, we are probably screwed out of a wild card...however, we can still win our division. It starts by winning all of our divisional games (if we lose one is has to be to Cleveland) but we are really not that far out of the divisonal race. They do have to pick it up and play Steelers football from here on out...but I like our team and I think if anyone can turn it around it is these guys!

Great reply SteelerFan

Honestly if were going to lose another game if we actually can afford too it really cant be until Carolina on December 17th. At that point assuming we win 6 in a row we would be 8-5 going into that game with 1 win head to head over Baltimore and 2 wins head to head over Cleveland. And for you to say we can afford to lose to Cleveland one game is insane. This team cant lose anymore games in this division period and they especially cant lose either game they play to the Browns who are 2 of there easier games on their schedule right now. As I have been posting on here the last few days the Steelers must be 5-5 going into Baltimore on November 26th. At that point I believe Baltimore will be 7-3 and if we beat them we go to 6-5 and they fall to 7-4 and we then own the head to head versus them. The next 2 weeks after that the Ravens play back to back road games at Cincy and KC, while the Steelers play games at home the same weeks against Tampa and Cleveland. Cincy will lose one of the next 3 games to either Baltimore,San Diego or New Orleans and I think that will put them at 7-4 after the Baltimore game but we would still be one game behind them with a game to play and Cincy still has to go to Denver and Indy in late December before they play us the last week. This scanerio has a strong possibility of playing out if we win the next 3 games with Baltimore and Cincy. Just remember where you heard it and read it first.

Oh don't worry. This guy, jakeinprogress, is a good guy. He never gave up on the Steelers last year. And frankly, the way they've been playing so far this year, I can't disagree with him. However, I figured since we were quoting Shakespeare, I might as well show what will either happen the rest of this year, or at least next year, with one of my favorite quotes from that play.

There's a difference between giving up and "giving up" . None of us will ever "give up" on our Steelers, we will never stop being a fan...but with a season like this where there is so much that has gone bad that we wonder if this team can come back and make this season competitive because we've been in such a funk.

Time will tell, but either way we'll still be here win or lose !
