let me also say i am sitting here wearing a Big Ben jersey so i am a ben Fan, but what is missing that this isnt happening when he is in there? i am asking this as a serious question cause i cant for the life of me figure it out on my own.

....we got to keep in mind who the Steelers are playing

I am wearing a ben jersey too(just got it for Christmas in fact) and the only answer I can come up with is that Byron hasn't been sacked 10,000,245 times this season, doesn't have a bum shoulder, and isn't afraid to take a hit like Ben might be. That is my explanation.

I understand that and Ben wasn't getting it done like Byron was against "who we are playing" so the question is legitimite regardless of who we are playing.

Lewis is running really well tonight

Cleveland has actually ran the ball somewhat descent today.

Oh, and that too. I wonder if Byron would have the same success if this had happened against the Cowgirls.

i still gotta wonder if when Byron goes in he can read defenses better. The thing i see is that plays are not breaking down before they start. Its the only thing i can think of which goes back to if ben is putting in the study time or just not able to read defenses correctly??

hey steelerschick, i understand the browns suck, but Ben was playing like crap against them before he got hurt, my biggest question is, is this cause ben is ot reading defenses? is it cause he is hurt? i am not bashing the guy but when you back up comes in twice in the season and lights it up when the #1 guy was struggling then its nto a matter of who we are playing or if we played a tougher team.

I want to know why our starting quraterback wasnt getting it done and our backup is? Im not trying o argue with anyone or be a smart *** i want real thoughts and opinions here cause what i have said is the only thing i can think of and i am not 100% sure if what i am thinking is correct.

Alright!!!!!!!!! Pick 6!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who had it??????????

livingthrudying

why is it that when Ben went out (and not calling the plays anymore) does our starting running back start lighting it up as well?

I think ben is a elite QB, but i dont think he has the experience and the mind to be a QB/OC like peyton manning. Seems like he does best when he lets others gameplan and he plays?? Although i could be wrong on this.

Roye is actually playing really well. He is not Farrior or Timmons, but he is playing pretty well.

That was one cheap hit on the return. No need to jump down on him like that.

I don't know why. I am not watching the game so I can't make a fair assessment of how he played before he got the snot knocked out of him. I mean looking at his stats, aside from the pick, it looks like he was doing okay. I know both games before ben went out he led us on scoring drives, so we have no idea if that would have been the spark that got him going. It is puzzling.

Our offense as a whole has been pretty bad at times. Our oline, Arains, plus our receivers have dropped a ton of catchable balls this year. So not all of ben's problems are him. He has been getting it done. He tends to wait until the 4th quarter this year, though. :)

I guess we can take consolation in the fact that the last time he had a crappy year he came out and lit them up the next.

IMO, Ben does better when we run no huddle and he calls the plays. Sometimes I think Arians is distracted by shiny objects and just calls in the first play that comes to mind regardless if it will work in the game or not.

You and me both. If we have more of these 4th quarter heroics in the playoffs, I will only live to be 50ish.

well and keep in mind without our lights out D those 4th quarter comebacks wouldnt have meant much cause we would have needed more than a TD to win.

The D is really who to thank for this season without them we would be a sub .500 team

Besides Ben getting hurt. Great game the D got the shut out. Carter 2 picks 1 that he took to the house. FWP with 100+ yard game. Ward 1000 yard season + 800 catches for career. Byron came in and showed that we made right chose when Batch went down. We ready for playoffs.

Nice warm up for the playoffs. Well, aside from Ben getting the snot knocked out of him. I seem to remember the last time we shut out the Browns before we went in the playoffs........hee hee.
