We’ll get some quick hitters up in a bit. According to ESPN 1250 in Pittsburgh, in the locker room after the game Jeff Reed said that he saw Ed Reed (or another Raven) spit in Punter/Holder Mitch Berger’s face on the Steelers extra point after their game winning TD, so he pushed him. The push resulted in a 15 yard penalty.

Updated: Also heard that sources inside the locker room are saying the Steelers were prepared to GO FOR IT on 4th down if the game-winning Holmes catch was not called a TD.

If he did that, i just lost pretty much all respect i ever had for Ed Reed...

Also, i would have hated if they went for it on 4th. Steelers are dead last in short 3 and 4th down conversions, and that was not the time to gamle imo. We could easily have hold them in OT and scored another FG :imho:

It might have seemed like a foolish penalty, and it probably was -- Jeff Reed getting assessed 15 yards for shoving Ravens cornerback Frank Walter after the extra point on the winning touchdown. That forced Reed to kick off from the 15 and gave the Ravens, after a 13-yard return, possession at their 47 with 0:43 remaining. But Reed said he shoved Walter because Walter spit in the face of holder Mitch Berger, who was standing between the players. OK, it wasn't a smart penalty. But understandable.

I really hate the Ratbirds more than any team, Ray Lewis is a loud mouth A-hole but I have nothing but respect for Ed Reed. I doubt that he would do that. If you watch him play after the plays he regurlarly shows good sportsmanship. I guess it was that Walter dude, whoever he is! Kudo's to Reed for sticking up for his teammate, and bad on the refs for calling such a BS call. Remember the Super Bowl where Lambert slammed the Cowboy after he harassed Gerala? In today's game he would have been ejected but back than there wasn't even a penalty.

I wondered why we got the 15 yarder. Isn't that what we've come to expect from the ratbirds. I try and give other teams respect even if I don't cheer for them, but the asses from Baltimore deserve none. There is no greater joy than beating the ratbirds. Now bring on the Titans!:tt02::helmet::cope:

I dont think Reed spit on Berger, I saw Reed talking mad sh!t to somebody else on the line and Berger did push him. He could have though, I might be wrong. What a bunch of ****in crybabies man, even if that touchdown is called back it is on the quarter inch line, either roethlisberger takes it in for the win or we kick the field goal and tie the game. the ravens didnt lose because of that call, they lost cause they couldnt do jack sh!t on offense, even after being set up so many times. They couldnt move the ball, The Steelers eventually did. How many controversial calls were against the Steelers this season??? shut up rat birds!!!!

Baltimore Ravens (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=bal) coach John Harbaugh said he doesn't believe Pittsburgh Steelers (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=pit) punter Mitch Berger (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=619) when he says Ravens cornerback Frank Walker (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4665) spit in Berger's face during Sunday's game, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Berger said he confronted Walker after what Berger thought was a blatant attempt to go after kicker Jeff Reed (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4399)'s knee on an extra-point attempt.
Berger was quoted in The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette after the game as saying, "I tried to get in the middle to separate him, but he got in my face and spit right in my mouth. He spit right in my mouth. I'm still trying to spit that ... out. I was talking to him, trying to separate everybody and he spit right in my mouth."
During his weekly news conference, Harbaugh said, "That's the first I heard that. I don't believe it for one second," according to the Sun. "Frank Walker wouldn't do it, none of our players would do it. I don't believe it for one second."

Well maybe he should have used that leg strength and accuracy to target somewhere on Mr. Walker himself lol! I don't think anyone would blame him, if someone spits in your face they have noooooooooooooooooooo respect for you at all. Which is why he prolly picked Berger in the first place, cuz had it been Reed we may be without a kicker right now lol! That is after Goodell suspended him for an extra field goal try lol!I don't think anyone else on the team would have taken that.

It came deliberately from the Baltimore Ravens' Frank Walker after Berger tried to serve as a peacemaker during a brief scuffle between Walker and Steelers kicker Jeff Reed. At least that's Berger's story -- and Reed's. "It was gross," Berger said, contorting his face into a grimace. "Disgusting," Reed added. "Just classless."
Reed took exception to Walker rolling toward his left leg -- his plant leg -- after trying to block his extra point following the Steelers' winning touchdown with 43 seconds left. "I've had that happen to me before with effort plays," Reed said. "But I honestly think he tried to take me out."
Reed and Walker exchanged words and shoves. Berger, Reed's holder, tried to intervene.
That's when the spit hit the fan.
Walker admitted to the Baltimore Sun yesterday that he might have been a little loose with his spittle but said it was purely accidental.:whatever:
