First I would like to tell Ben that I am sorry for calling him Worthlessberger. He is not, and I take it back. Ben has done great things for the team and that can not be forgotten because of some struggles he is having. I was just really pissed that this team lost a game I felt it should have run away with. I have to say that of all the loses that this team has had under Ben this was the worst. Well except for being cheated by the Pats. But thats another story all together.
My mother bought me The Big Ben Jersey for my birthday this last weekend, however I did not plan on wearing it until next year because I didn't want to mess up the Mojo for the season.
Well there is a change in plans. I will be wearing that Jersey so long as Ben is going to play. If Ben is going to go out there, play hurt and give it all he's got... Then I am going to stand by him, support him, and rally behind him. He has put a smile on my face far to many times for me to be a selfish prick, and if he wants to trash his stats, and get called a bust, then god dangit, I'm going to take the heat with him. I have said many times that I feel he is the best QB in the league, and I still feel that way.

I ask you, all of my countrymen and brothers of Steeler Nation, to stand with me and help Ben find is magic again. Together we can do it, and together we will rally down the stretch and finish this season like Champions. Win or lose Ben is our brother, and he's trying his *** off. What other QB could play with a shoulder like that? What QB ever?

If any of you are wondering if I just watched Any Given Sunday for that final half time speach with Al Pacino....I did....lol

:clap::clap: i still think Ben is one tough assss dude. i think at the end of his hall of fame career we will look back on this year and say the only reason his stats dropped was because of an f-ed up shoulder. that being said i think he pulls it together and we go deep into the playoffs... in spite of BA's shiattay play calling. i am just afraid if we do go far then they wont feel the need to fire our sad excuse for an OC :banging:

so lets all rally behind Ben:cope:... and go burn down BA's house:lol:

Dude you have no reason to be sorry.....I bash players all the time....It doesn't make you any less of a fan for doing so.....Some fans are positive cheer leader types and that is ok....But others are critical and that is fine also....We as fans spend money on tickets, Sunday Ticket, merchandise and not to mention all the emotions of following this team so its ok to vent when the team or a player pisses you off....

The fact is we can bitch or we can cheer but we're all fans and we all need to see Ben get his mojo back and get on a roll becuz now is a critical time for this team. These upcoming games will make or break our season regardless of the record. If we get on a roll then we'll be steam rolling into the playoffs. If we keep being inconsistent, and assuming we still get in, we'll be bounced in the 1st round. It's do or die Ben, we need you to come through!

Everyone gets pised and says things they don't really mean... especially after a tough loss when the game should have been won! :bigthumb: Sometime it's best to get those feeling out rather than let them bottle up inside :D

I could name a few QB's that would play with a shoulder injury and win games. I watched Terry Bradshaw play with a Broken throwing hand. I have seen John Elway play injured and also Brett Favre. alot of QB's from the "70's" and "80's" would play hurt. other than that you are right, with these new rules and with the Pansy *** QB's we got now-a-days, take Romo for instance, a broken Pinkie ??? give me a break, splint that thing, wrap it and get your *** on the field of battle and earn your money. Ben is hard nosed football. gotta hand it to him.

:clap::clap::clap: Well said!

We all say things in the heat of the moment we don't mean. This was a tough loss against a team we should have beat easily, so naturally we were all more than a little frustrated.
But I would NOT trade Big Ben for any other QB in this league. Provided we get a decent O-line in the off-season, and he matures a little more (sometimes we forget he's only 26), he's gonna continue to have a HOF career for the Steelers. He's struggling now, no doubt about that. My first inclination is to let him sit out and give his shoulder a rest, but I know he's not gonna sit on the bench if he can help it.
Ben is our QB, we gotta take the bitter with the sweet. And I'm sure he'll get his "mojo" back soon...he's too much of a competitor not to.

There is a vast difference between constructive critizism and name calling. Because one chooses to critize constructively, it does not automatically mean that fan is a cheerleader.

Exactly, I do not take back what I said. Ben is a selfish player, and not a Team player.

Please dont say that. He's a Warrior, and will come through for us. I know that no one feels worse than him. However I'm sure having 28 million in the bank takes a little sting off that. We need to stand behind him, show him support. You know he will win, and win big for us. Then you, just like me will be able to say F*$# you guys, I was there all along.

I don't think Ben is selfish, but I do think he tries to take too much on himself and tries to be a big "playmaker" when there is simply no play to make, IMHO. For example, my main pet peeve is that he seems to hold onto the ball knowing full well that there are no receivers open and tries to go for the long ball anyway.

I think Ben has to learn that there are times to be the hero and there are times when you just have to be a good game manager. Last week he was neither.

But I have faith that Ben will get it together. :tt02::tt02:

...a few QB's that would play with a shoulder injury and win games. I watched Terry Bradshaw play with a Broken throwing hand...

With all the interceptions that Terry threw, good thing the defense stepped up and kept the other team from scoring too many TDs off them, since it was almost a 1-1 ratio of TDs/interceptions.

And I watched the defense literally take over and win games for the Bears a couple seasons ago, when Rex was struggling so much...

Our D had only allowed 10 TDs in eight games, but they allowed THREE in the last one. So had they even stopped ONE of those TDs made off Ben's interceptions, we'd have still won that game. Then there's a few drops by our offensive guys, a few (really) bad calls, a couple of times that our D could've gotten an interception (but didn't), and a couple of really, REALLY bad luck plays for Ike--he was right on them, and normally those would be knocked AWAY from a receiver rather than right into their hands...

Ben's partially responsible, but if it only took QB play to win games, then there'd be no need for anyone else.

Yeah but you cant expect the D to win EVERY game fo rus, eventually Ben has to play like a $100 million dollar player, and win a few games.....he can't live off of the past anymore

There are a lot of variables in those losses. Ben is only one of several. Ben's shoulder gives him a valid excuse for a drop in stats. What's everyone else's excuse? Seems many of our backups did more for the team than the starters did. Ben risks his whole career playing injured. If he gets cut because his shoulder is ruined, he won't get all of that 100 million. So it serves no purpose for him to play injured. Some of you may ask yourself why the coaches are asking him to play in such a condition when the final call is theirs... Ben is probably one of the toughest QBs to come along in a long time. Right up there with Brett Favre. Another great QB whom btw didn't have to suffer nearly as much scrutiny as our own seems to. He only won one of his two super bowls for GB...

Steeler fans, I've come to realize, are far more critical of their players than other teams' fans are. I've seen calls for dumping Hines Ward when he got injured. Willie Parker, Jerome Bettis, Heath Miller, and several of our stellar players were all victims of upset fans. Tommy Maddox actually had his home vandalized and his family threatened when he lost a game in OT. He didn't deserve that. We may be the biggest fan base in the world for a single NFL team, but we also seem to be the least forgiving.

I suppose in the end we could all pray they go with some hack off the streets so our criticisms would be accurate. But if you ask me, I'd rather have Big Ben in there than any other QB in the NFL.

I don't expect the D to win "every" game (although some are good enough to do that very thing)--just was stating the fact that our D gave up more TDs in that game than what they had been, and even allowing just one less would've been enough to get a win--and also saying that it's a TEAM effort, not just one single player.

I acknowleged that Ben's partially responsible, but he's only one player on our team, and I know that everyone had to see some of the mistakes that I saw by some of our other players as well--all those mistakes add up.
