This is awesome, even the cleveland writers know that Ben is Great

cleveland newspaper compliments BEN
By Jeff Schudel

Derek Anderson should wear one of those fashionable soft plastic bracelets, the kind with initials on them, from now on when he plays football ó a nice orange one with W.W.B.D.? on it.

The message could stand for What Would Brett Do? or What Would Ben Do? as in Brett Favre or Ben Roethlisberger, take your pick. One thing neither would have done Sunday after sneaking three yards for a first down with 1 minute, 10 seconds to play is run to the sideline to get the play from a coach if their radio helmet malfunctioned as Andersonís did for the fifth or sixth time. Each would have taken over the offense, as quarterbacks with leadership skills do, and either spiked the ball or called a play at the line of scrimmage.

By the time Anderson took the snap for the next play, only 46 seconds remained. The Browns were out of timeouts.

Coach Romeo Crennel was correct Sunday when he said time remained when Phil Dawson attempted a 54-yard field goal. Twenty-five seconds were left when officials signaled the kick was no good. But the offense was helter-skelter in the three plays that followed the squandered 24 seconds.

Rehashing Sundayís game is old news now, but the way the game ended is symptomatic of a bigger problem for the Browns, and I remain in the platoon of Derek Anderson supporters, a platoon that is experiencing more deserters by the day.

Andersonís problems are two-fold. If he does not start well, he usually does not end well. He started well against the Giants and ended up passing for 310 yards and two touchdowns. He has had poor starts in other games this season, not all of them his fault, and consequently the Browns are 2-4.

The best quarterbacks lift their team. They find a way to win. Roethlisberger and Favre would have found a way to pull that game in Washington out.

Suffice it to say DA is certainly no Ben Roethlisberger...and that just has to suck if you're a Browns fan.

They should start selling this on tshirts at Steelers games. I bet it would be pretty popular.

DA is FOR SURE not Ben. Ben could play better with one hand tied behind his back then DA could if he had both.
