I think we should line Max up at TE a little more often this game. I think it woudl really help the Oline and he would block much better than Heath. Maybe go with a couple of 3 TE sets to get the best protection for Ben. I don't recall seeing Max in th eline up during the Eagles game, anyone else?

Hey maybe it would work, at least its a change. It might force the DE and OLB further out

Max used too and I think he still does now and then, line up as an extra TE in the jumbo package they use in goal lines and short yardage. That's how he won over the coaches but really asserting himself in that role when he had the chances. The fact that he can't even beat out a guy who isn't a true Tackle to begin with doesn't leave much faith available for him now though.

Great Point!

thanks, cleve. i can't remember the last time i felt this way about our situation. our o line bites, arians is the worst O.C. in the league, tomlin hasn't grown a pair yet, and our franchise qb is one hit away from being a permanent fixture at heinz field.

Cowher teams had occasional mental breakdowns against teams they should normally beat; when it came to big time games though against quality teams in the regular season we usually showed up and atleast played half decent. We may have lost from time to time but we didn't make a habit of beating ourselves. This team under Tomlin definitely doesn't quite have it together on offense just yet..defense is getting there and the ST looks initially it might be on the right track as well. Offense though, it's early in the season yet and I think we'll know pretty much all we need to know once that stretch hits in mid October that takes us into December.

if the OL shows up and protects Ben then I like our chances. If they don't and we get more repeat performances like last week we might as well just throw in the terrible towel.

What is up with Max, anyone that watched a game while Max was a starter can tell you he is a much better lineman than Colon and when he was moved to LT there was very little dropoff.

Now if you go back to training camp you will see Starks wasn't given the opportunity to compete for either the RT or LT position

So....I have to ask , why would you pay someone that much money and sit him, did Max say I got my money and no longer care or is it something with the coaches ?

You really think so? I completely disagree, but please elaborate. Is he a good one? No. The worst? Nope. He is ok. He will make some bad calls and sometimes fall too much in love with the passing game. That is how he was in Cleveland and how he is now. Mike Martz, for all his innovations, despises running the ball and has yet to find a way to not get his quarterback killed. Jim Colletto in his 3 game stint as Lions OC, has failed miserably with a team full of talent on the offensive line of the ball (excluding Jon Kitna, George Foster, and Jeff Backus.) Those are two examples of people worse than Arians.

I agree, put in Starks and Essex and drop Simmons and colon.

I'm so sick of hearing how our line is going to get manhandled monday night. How bad they are, it's embarrasing. I sure hope the guys on the line feel as embarrased as we do.

I just want to rub **** in the Ravens face. They ain't that good.
