What an absolute joke today. I counted 4 straight plays where he just let the rusher get right by him and put pressure or sack Big Ben in the 4th Quarter. Then he is out of breath when they show him in frame... give me a break. You make millions of dollars to BLOCK and you can't even do that.... I read all of those articles on how you won't be back next year... well thank god for that. I am amazed that you even show up anymore. You should be ashamed of yourself and you should apologize to everyone on your team.

I know that Philly is a good defense and that everyone on the O Line (and the team) played bad... but come on! You should step up and take credit for your franchise QB getting sacked and pummeled again this week.

Please bench Marvel... I know that we have to have someone better... you could put a blocking dummy in there in his place... it will slow the rusher down for more time than Marvel will.

Harsh stuff considering Smith was our best O'lineman today.

They all sucked... but I hate seeing him play Matador with the rushers and just let them go by... thats sickening.

Ok thats not saying much.....Smith was the best OL today by default....Smith totally whiffed on a block just like Willie Colon and Kendall Simmons.....

Marvel Smith might have the Alan Faneca syndrome in him this year....Play like **** since you don't have a contract extension....He won't be back next year and at this point I say don't let the door hit your *** on the way out Marvel.....

I'm is no way defending Smith, I just find it hard to critize anyone after watching Simmons.

Kendall Simmons is an abortion of an OL.....He is just flat out terrible....Along with Willie Colon......Colon I still think has some potential as an OG....He isn't an NFL OT.......I will keep saying it until I'm blue in the face.....I'm so desperate that I want to see the $7 million dollar man Max Starks at RT...He couldn't do any worse.....

Willie's a player ? I thought he was a line judge the way he was standing there.

I don't mind most things but when someone is beat consistantly and your QB is taking a beating... then get him out of the game.. if he's tired, drunk, dead, whatever get him out of the game.

The whole O line sucked.. but come on man... if you need a breather then take yourself out of the game. You are not protecting anyone's blind side when you let the rushers run right by you.

Simmons is a diabetic piece of crap. I've hated this guy since we drafted him. I've waited for him to improve and it hasn't happened and most likely never will. He's our first round bust from 2002, but he's still on our roster.

I am just waiting for someone to say, "put a back in there to help" but that screws up your entire game plan when you have to have a RB or two there to help the porous O line. Those guys need to man up and start blocking someone before our QB goes down for the year.

It might the single most pathetic performance by a Steeler's offensive line that I have ever witnessed, at least that I can remember anyway. It's scary to think that it could get worse. Didn't they have a streak where Ben was sacked for 4 or 5 straight plays? Ridiculous.

I remember playing the Ravens in 2006 we had a similiar performance. The 27-0 loss.

That's exactly right, each and every one of them is to blame.

Kemoeatu got caught for holding atleast twice and was a turnstyle all day.

Hartwig didn't know if he was coming or going.

Simmons, see Kemoeatu minus the holding calls

Colon & Smith just flat out got schooled by quick pass rushers who got a jump and they couldn't recover.

This is not a game to judge 1 player, all 5 of them are to blame.

This is what happens when you pay lip service to drafting O-lineman and then wait until day 2 of the draft to pick one. As I watch games on Sunday I am constantly reminded of our teams blissful ignorance of these problems as I see some of those top O-lineman names that were bantered about on these boards in years past playing well for other teams. What were the 2 biggest concerns here at Steeler Addicts days prior to the draft? I believe they were O-lineman and D-lineman. We have one of the prize jewels for a franchise quarterback and we employ the 5 stooges to protect him. Larry Zeirlein is like Inspector Clouseau (Pink Panther) trying to safeguard the hope diamond. :evilshake:

Colon should not be a RT ...... How hard is it for the coaching staff to consider putting thier $7 million dollar bench warmer out on RT where he belongs and moving Colon back inside to RG where HE belongs?

Honestly .... how fu<king hard is that?

Every week I can pick out Willie Colon messing up more and more and watching the consequences. He either gets run over outright, gets a holding call, stands there and looks dazed, or gets another penalty of some sort.

About as hard as protecting the quarterback....apparently.

What makes me so livid over all of this is that at the end of last season I pinned the O-line as the greatest weakness, yet nothing was done this off-season to adjust that. I attempted to remain hopeful, but yesterday brought back all the frustration from last year tenfold. All I can say is unacceptable.

Yeah, except with Marvel it's "every time we play a team that knows how to rush the passer at all, it's time to go into Matador Mode." It would be one thing if it was just this year since he doesn't have an extension, but Marvel has been mailing in his worst performances in the biggest games for pretty much his whole career.

:yesnod: :yesnod:

Couldn't agree more. I'm sick of drafting Practice Squad All-Stars every year in the 6th or 7th round, and then having that be our O-lineman pick for the year. And you know what's really scary? As bad as these jokes we have starting are, half of them are GONE next year. We may not even have enough people to put in uniforms and tell them to pretend to be O-linemen anymore.

And LOL at the Inspector Clouseau reference.
Zeirlein has been an embarrassment since the moment he got here. (porn-email-gate)
