Wow!!! Gald to see Chad return home ;) :bigthumb: It's funny though how things work out!

In attempt to answer questions that surfaced this week at outside linebacker, the Steelers have signed Chad Brown.
Brown, who started his career with the Steelers and played here from 1993-97, was supposed to practice with the team Thursday afternoon.

He has made the Pro Bowl three times during his 14-year career and played for the New England Patriots last season.

Reserve linebacker James Harrison (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs and starting linebacker Joey Porter (hamstring) is questionable.

“Chad’s been in this business a long time,” starting defensive end Aaron Smith said. “He has a high motor. He can help this team out.”

Awesome news. Glad to see Chad Brown back where he belongs, in the black and gold. So, is he going to start, or be the backup to Arnold Harrison?

I'm sure he'll start off as a backup, but if injuries continue then you never know :dunno:

Man to bad Chad is so old now. He was awesome when he with the Steelers the first time around. Chad had 13 sacks during the 1996 season. But the signing of Chad does bring some experience until James Harrison and Joey Porter are healthy.

Does he have anything left in the tank?

Let's hope he has some power left.

Chad is a definite value to the Steelers D. He might not be an every down LB because he's surely lost some speed but he will be a good role LB and will fill in nicely while others heal.

You got that right.

I think he has some gas left. He loves to play the outside, hell that and a little more $$ is why he left in the first place. The guy loves the outside spot.

Coming full circle huh Chad ! Good to have you home buddy !!

He'll be a backup now, but depending on how injuries play out and how backups do he may get more playing time.

Now all we need is the other 3 to come back too :tt02:

Greg Lloyd was one of the meanest and nastiest player to ever play in the NFL. I do miss Lloyd alot. I'm glad he got his life in order also. I know he was having some problems there for awhile. Thats what this team needs right now is a player like Greg Lloyd. This 1-3 wouldn't sit well with Greg Lloyd thats for sure.

You're right, Lloyd would stand up in the middle of a meeting or in the locker room after practice and just rip into every single player on the team and get them fired up and motivated. He was just a beast. All 4 of those guys in that pic combined to be the best group of LB's I think we've ever had on the field at one time in the Cowher era, and one of the best in Steeler history.

Good pic TG

Because if the Devil wants to play,He'll have to play without an Ace in his deck. Calling Rock Soliders:kiss: (were did that come from?)

That's saying a lot about that group considering all the great LB's that have been in Pittsburgh, but I would have to agree because the Steelers may have had 2 or 3 good ones at once but never really 4 that stood out like them.

While the 70' team has some great players they didn't have 4 great LB's like that. They did have one of the best in Lambert though. I'd have to say if you look at all 4 spots (or 3) that this was the most talented 4 playing at the same time.
