STEELERS SIGN DIXON

The Steelers have signed another pick from the 2008 NFL Draft. The team has locked up quarterback Dennis Dixon. The fifth-round pick is expected to be the teams third quarterback this season. Dixon reportedly received a $130,000 signing bonus. Despite injuring his knee at the end of last season, Dixon is expected be ready for the start of camp at the end of the month. Earlier in the day, the Steelers signed fourth-round pick offensive tackle Tony Hill.

yep, good to see him signed; he's all but got his spot on this team nailed down since Jabransky was cut. Had he not gotten injured he could have been atleast a 2nd round pick in the draft.

Im really happy to see him locked up! :) He is going to be a killer back-up QB for Ben, especially since batch isnt getting any younger :)

i told you that ho zabransky wasn't gonna give dixon any comp and that as soon as he was drafted he was locked in being the number 3 qb on this team

I guess we'll never know now will we?

At this point they must feel Dixon is going to be healthy enough and has the talent to stick around for a long time and be a quality player for this team behind Ben. He's got a great teacher in Batch to learn from and of course the man himself, Ben.

we do know, dixion has it on lock just like i said, and if zabransky had shown anything in the ota's and **** he'd still be on the team, but since he wasn't good enough to compete with a cripple they cut him

I don't think Dixon had it on lock the whole time but he did indeed show something in this offseason to make the team a believer in him enough to cut ties with Zabransky. It could have been a fun battle to watch in camp but we're better getting him more time in the preseason doing what he can without splitting time with a counterpart fighting for his job too.

Dixon is on the club. Now he can settle down and learn the offense. I would also like to see him in the slot a few times this year. Imagine a 6-7 TE(Spaeth), 6-5 WR(Sweed), 6-5 Slot(Dixon) and then our beloved Hines Ward!!! And of course fast Willie in the back field. You cant stop that!!:tt02:

I am 90% sure Dixon is not 6-5. I thought he was like 6-2?

And you forgot Santonio. What the f uck?

Anyway, I like Batch, but he no longer has an arm. If Ben is out for an extended period of time, I could see Dixon getting the starts over Batch.

because height is all that matters...thats why we need matt muthafukin jones.

dixon will play primarily backup QB but he said he will do whatever it takes to stay on the team whether that be moving to WR or returning a few kicks

he measured 6-3 195 at the combine...you mentioned how unstoppable the offense would be with 6-7 spaeth, 6-5 sweed and 6-5 dixon...thats retarded. height is thhe most overrated measurable in football. you left out the best players on the team with holmes and miller...miller is head and shoulders better than spaeth despite coming up 2 inches shorter and holmes is the best WR on the team

Well than, I was right and wrong. Anyway, do not expect him to play a lot of positions other than QB.

easy my friend. I was merely offering up the possibility of having several different options. I would like to see Miller get the ball more as well. This season is going to be fun!!! I want Dixon on the club and would like to see him at QB but would also like to seewhat he can do at a slot. third downs killed us last year. we need to shake it up and get other teams off balance. Hieght will work then. remember it is where the ball is reached not the feet. Catch the ball extend the arms and we keep on rollin rollin rollin.

In the end we can both stand side by side and watch the Steelers kick ***!!!
